Maxim,https://www.offshore-mag.com/vessels/article/14290698/caspian-sunrise-secures-work-for-drilling-vesselhttps://polaris.brighterir.com/public/caspian_sunrise/news/rns/story/rgg6kvrIt seems consistent (ish). Original announcement was for summer 24 and Clive's last update state q3 so that could be July but that is leaving it late surely ? Stating the facts, Summer officially starts Jun 21 so Q3 could be July but I'd have thought they'd have kicked it off as soon as the ice melted ie May. Hopefully there are no wobbles !!

The timing on CE seems interesting. Seems logically you would start the hire the very moment the weather improved. As xc2 says all we can do is sit and hope that in the next RNS they can pull any sort of rabbit out of the hat. Even if it's glassy eyed and moth eaten. As long as the market recognises it as such.

I'm not holding my breath Konil. The biggest loser is KO and he needs a result more than anyone with 50% invested !!

nice post smarty.

i was glad the ce sale at the stupidly low price fell through last year, but the fact that casp had agreed that price just showed how desparate they were for funding. i cant see anything that will have changed the cash position for the better since then, so they must be running on fumes.

we'll soon (summer 2024) be at crunch time for ce cash from the charter - rns 07/03/2023. if the charter cash doesn't come through for whatever reason and there is no improvement in production numbers (deep or shallow) it begs the question where does casp go from there? and what is ko's plan?

Konil,They have certainly worn down their investor base, especially the long termers. We invested in oil rich Kazakhstan and the opportunities on the Roxi/Casper acreage but consistent drilling failure makes it difficult to remain bullish. As far as we know they're funded to continue drilling and the CE cash supports that plight but consistent failure needs to stop and as I've said many times, it's either their skill level or the geology is just too difficult. We've been so close to success at A5 (allegedly) and found all at all the deeps bar A8 and 10 years on, still no cigar. The Block 8 acreage has delivered commercial oil from the deeps drilled but were waiting to see if Shin and co can flow oil from the 2 new deep structures drilled. If you look at the opportunity on paper, this is a huge multi-bagging opportunity but consistent failure and poor comms has damaged sentiment/credibility. Only way they change that is by delivering success. 6 deeps being drilled, remedial or appraisal and success at any transforms the landscape and brings in new investors. Priced on its arze but the current NAV is irrelevant until they deliver sone good news . Certainly is one of the most frustrating companies to be invested in !

all they have to do is give an honest monthly status update with delays, problems, wins, the lot. having come clean and cleared out the bad news last year, it was the ideal opportunity to rebuild market trust.

but given the delay in reporting, yet again, despite cc saying reporting would be at regular intervals after feedback from shareholders, i suspect thay have resorted to their old ways and have kept schtum because they have run into major problems.

have waited several years for this to come good but beginning to wish i had never heard of them in the first place. hoping they prove me wrong!

Nowt we can do but wait to see the next update and hope it's not another episode of Carverspeak or even worse, lacking any substantial content. Takes very little positivity to shift the share price but we all crave for that first deep victory.

Hi Spangle,Was using WHI broker report. As you know there's no value factored in for any deeps or CE. I know nothing has been converted to reserves yet so no value can be attributed in NAV. I believe that the NAV has little relevance with this stock, well not yet. As u know, this stock has been 26p after A5 discovery and 78p post IPO when NAV was a fraction of that price. This is a sentiment stock and one deep sends so flying and no correlation of NAV to m/cap alike many AIM stocks

XC2, CASP reminds me of Zephyr, great test of patience just waiting for a turn of luck. Still wish I had sold out at 8p plus though :-)

How do you get the current NAV, smarty? If using quoted WHI from June 2022, wouldn't you need to downgrade NAV based on price received for oil after sanctions?

[Whether reserves are truly 26.5 MMbbl given the 142 failure and minimum production in comparison is moot. At 2000 bopd it's going to take 20 years to produce even half of what's booked]

Tag57,I believe it sums up where we are. I thought we'd get more news pre 23 year end and I was expecting it to contain sone corporate activity announcement. They struggle with the drilling and that has got to change. They also need to add a couple of NEDs as 2 executive directors is not enough. No guarantees with this stock, history has shown us that. Sentiment is poor amongst PIs but it will only take a modicum of good news to change that and suddenly the roses are back in bloom. Many shareholders are disillusioned, especially the long termers but good news will reignite enthusiasm and attract new investment from new Caspians who don't carry the scars from Caspian's history. Got to look at it is today and there's no getting away with the fact that they have assets that can launch the share price to many multiples of current price. It's the first deep that really sets this off but even shallow success will restore confidence and improve shareholder value.SP on its arze and as I've said, lower than current NAV but investors need sone positivity for that to be realised.Fingers xd.

Clearly one (desperate for cash!) seller just dumped over a million shares, within the spread and the MM's didn't drop the bid immediately after as they usually would, just the offer by 1p.

Positive sign imo, and that seller may well come to regret that decision.
