500 tons of crude per day equals 3500 bopd!

Once A5 is back in full production and the rest of the producing wells can manage 6500 bopd between them we can be thinking about putting up the 'For Sale' sign!

That is Clive's take on things anyway and I can see no reason why the family who own CASP would object if it brings then a good profit.

Last time I paid for an RNS it was I think £175 per release and that was by PR Newswire. The market for releases is now "Competitive" and has been since 2008 I think?

On issuing a release it normally takes two days to get everyone's sign off if its "Not urgent" anything urgent can be as quick as a couple of hours.

The other thing is most RNS's are planned weeks prior with the event when it turns up merely providing the facts to go into the already substantially pre-written release. If it wasn't like that everyone would go mad!

Each RNS has to be approved / sent for advice to a number of bodies. Even with modern communications there is still the time difference (UTC +6) and public holidays to take into account. If discussion is required this can take time (One party can be at morning coffee and another having afternoon tea. In the holiday season offices may be staffed by junior staff who have to refer to their seniors).

ToggleB,I don't think that makes any difference re releasing news.If the company had material news to issue I'm sure they'd release it. A5 is the primary news item as success here gives credibility to the deep programme, regardless of what they've got going on with 801,A6 etc.I sense issues again with A5 as I know they'd have been gagging to kick off 2018 with a bang, let's hope I'm way off base .

let's recap the latest company line and the very pathetic but by now more than expected misses.

slide 24 of the 21 nov presentation was headed "November/December 2017 Newsflow" and stated the following:

what we actually got was confirmation that a5 flow test was started followed by a sorry attempt to pretend it hadn't actually started until more problems sorted out.

on the bright side, 2018 performance just has to be better.

also perhaps the theory of fiscally motivated selling by kaz holders prior to the new year was correct and selling pressure will now abate.

You need to hear the CEO speak, he really doesn’t sound like a man looking to sell on. I think he believes there is a lot more here than we are currently factoring in. The second deeper target on next years A8 well being one thing that could make a material change. The other was a likely horizontal redrill of an old well 54 at South Yelemes. Either of those if succcessful might deliver a paradigm shift in what this acreage is worth.

But first they need to get busy with the drill!

Achievable in 'months not years' according to Clive.

Are we talking 50p or more within the next 6 months then?

Caspian Sunrise Chairman Clive Carver gives us an in-depth update on exploration and strategy in Kazakhstan. A flow test is to start within days on the 3500 bpd A5 deep well, with Clive ‘disappointed’ if two other deep wells are not ready for testing ‘in the next couple of quarters’, giving ‘10,000 bpd within months not years’. Or as House broker WH Ireland put it: ‘This is the moment we were waiting for’. Clive is confident this asset will prove of interest to one of the oil majors because of it’s proximity to Tengiz, and says ‘we need to have independently assessed reserves and 10,000 bpd in production if we are to get the price we think it’s worth’.

400k trade disclosed 10.43p and that was probably the one that sent the price to a 10.38 mid price yet the market was trading at 10.07 - 10.2. The price hasn't dropped today it's reflecting the correct market price. Most odd !

Agreed Captain, please no bad news. The sentiment here is bad enough on good news! The upside of that is at some point that bad sentiment will turn and when it does we should see this double on very little news. That catalyst is probably production reaching 10,000+ But that requires the tubing to work. Hopefully sooner than later!

Clearly any news, if there is some of course, now being held till 2nd of Jan. Much better than wasting a nice RNS on a dead half day between Christmas and New Year. Maybe they are thinking a bit more strategically?

Ok that might be hopeful analysis, truth is “No News!”
But having said that I prefer it being in January to kick off the New Year.
