MEDITOR are major Debtor, buy the Company then asset strip, recoup its debt then close, that’s how these things work, it will look to sell off Europe arm, sell properties it owns, then any stock sitting, get it not shops and punt for whatever, (or sell cheap to a rival), wouldn’t be surprised if “The Lord”, bids for properties. Fire sale leading up to X-Mas, very much a “Buyer beware” proposition now

Regardless Meditor are in the driving seat and cannot see anyone else bidding ( well, they may do?) -

Meditor own the debt -

One of those deals where fake news emerges of another interested party, causing brief spike up before inevitable fresh collapse?
only who?

MEDITOR are in to the tune of £80 million, they have taken circa £30 million back in payments, Carpetright assets circa £90 mill
If the buyout at 4.5p and asset strip, they could return a further £20-25 million profit, why gamble on Brexit if & buts? A profit could be made and I’d bet on that

Nice to see that at least Soros will take a bath with his shares when the takeover goes through.

He who owns the debt, owns the company - as the saying goes.

Why would someone buy a company if there were going bust, obviously meditor see a future otherwise they wouldn't of bought the company's debts, soMeditor buy the rest of the company they would be debt free and they can rebuild onto that...

So, if Meditor makes an offer at 5p and it’s accepted by majority of the shareholders, does that mean my holding here will automatically be sold to Meditor at 5p?

Tough on staff who have contributed part of salary to share options, the staff all seem to be ageing men with large beer guts, seems stereotypical of personnel in CPR, Bensons for Beds and other big box furniture brands. Good for moving products around, have a bit of grunt!

Still deluded: If this is performing well I'd hate to see CPR performing badly.

<< The Board believes that Carpetright is performing well despite the challenging economic backdrop and intense sector competition. >>

5p is generous if ever they do make an offer imo.
