05/3/2018 16:36 | Nail on the head Not just Carpetrite but all the fancy sales patter just puts you off going into a store. | ignoble
05/3/2018 13:58 | Agree. Customer service has changed dramaticly over the years, yes turnover and profit are important but you get neither by treating customers badly, giving poor advice, and not comunicating or even selling a product that is not suitable for the task at hand, even worse selling accesories that might not be needed or quantaties that are wrong resulting in waste to the customer, and waste product is waste money.Early days ethos was "the customer is king" to welcome your customer into your store, leave them browse, offer assistance, if they require assistance, find out what they have in mind for what area in the house? Give accurate information suitable for the area including all that is needed for the job offering the customer the best posible service and advice at the best possible price, offer the estimating service for a more accurate costing as customers own measurements can be wrong due to a variety of reasons. Be truthfull about dates and times and keep customer informed at all times. Without customers there is ni business.K | kumala

04/3/2018 21:21 | Why would they be?Walk into a store and be harassed by a salesperson that simply wants to sell you 'something' not a product that is right for the task. Or buy a product that might be slashed in price by 50% next week. Oops, bad timing, never mind. | aim0raider
04/3/2018 20:57 | They don't seem to have much affection amongst the public. Will they be missed??? | ltcm1
04/3/2018 19:52 | Have a feeling the weather last week could be the nail in the coffin here. Disgruntled customers (no patience whatever the case) not seeing fitters arrive and no one visiting the stores. More of the same this week?Rents due end of March. No sympathy for a business whose model is built around 'inconsistent' pricing levels, poor in store advice (they'll sell you anything) and lack of direction. | aim0raider
03/3/2018 08:50 | Yes Tapi realise CPR is poorly led by clueless types so they will be able to gain market share at their expense. Time for the Chairman to take decisive action before the solids hit the fan. | meijiman
02/3/2018 22:41 | Yes. It was a great business. With some strong top management who knew the business lead by the then Sir. Later Lord Harris. John kitchen was one of these who was well respected at the time. None of the business's i mentioned folded under the leadership of Harris, they went bust under the poor leadership of others. Tapi carpets is still in its early stages of development but growing steadily agaon under the leadership of the Harris family, store managers and sales staff mostly taken from carpetright with the lure of better wages and the promise of share package. The same thing happened at the Birth of carpetright when carpetland was sold to james guliver. Soon after carpetland started going down hill. Tapi is growing steadily and a market float will happen ( imho) So... as CPR looses ground on all fronts oncluding the share price which continues its downward push. Tapi is expanding.. watch this space...K | kumala

01/3/2018 20:15 | I should say just like Carpetright will. Its not yet appointed a receiver or been subject to a successful winding up petition yet. These things are all cyclical anyway. | my retirement fund
01/3/2018 20:13 | Yes intetesting post Kumula. Note how all those businesses went bankrupt just like Carpetright. It would not surprise me if there was fraud here in the past. I suspect the company was signed of incorrectly as a going concern back in 2009 and infact was insolvent then.Carpetland was subject to fraudulent accounts shortly aftet it floated. | my retirement fund
