05/12/2016 23:13 | I'ts what the Staff are paid to do, nothing less would be expected, to establish the customers needs, give good friendly and accurate service, keep the customer informed of order progres, and if fitting, ensure the fitting date and time are met with the fitting completed to a high standard in good time to the customers satisfaction, why these days does it seam this is so hard to achieve and people have to write on web sites "I was happy with the service and fitting" etc. it should be the norm.... sadly not I suspect. CPR up 1p today, still very short of the £2 mark. mmmmmmm Sorry for "rant" K | kumala

28/11/2016 21:29 | Apologies in advance for annoying those who don't like ex-holders posting, but I think failure to hold now could be the beginning of the end. One of those special CPR stop-busting spikes up, followed by another meaty drop to around 150p? | tr65

28/11/2016 12:51 | Carpetright warns of price rises as exchange rate weighs on profits By Tom Ough 25 October 2016 • 11:09am Carpetright plc, Europe’s leading specialist carpet and floor coverings retailer, today announces an update on trading for the 25 weeks ended 22 October 2016. Full year guidance of an increase in gross profit percentage maintained at between 100-150 bps. o During the period, four stores were opened and fourclosed leaving 137 trading locations. | kumala
28/11/2016 12:47 | As posted earlier this year my thoughts that the share price would fall further preventing me re investing in CPR are all to clear, I didn't think it would take this long to drop under £2 but hear it is. I've been one of the strongest bulls supporting the company for a very long time during the early years, but the numbers, the charts, the reports, are all to clear. Lets see what the intrim results are like on 13th December! DYOR and, all in MHO of course. K Post 1062 28th June 2016 CPRhas been on a downward route for years a temp rebound aprox 2yrs back then the downward trend continued now accelerated by recent events. K Post 945 30th June 2016 Good to see CPR blue and falling any lower as i thought it would. Im no longer a holder but follow the BB and company. Good luck all holders. ;) K Post 947 30th June 2016 HI supasapi: Worth a "punt" maybe, I've not traded CPR for years now, but not to say I wont in the future, My sights are are on other stocks at present. CPR is close to my heart for a number of reasons, and its sad to see the company where it is today and the share price trying to tread water. K Post 951 30th June 2016 Net worth at 59.5 mil, back to 2006 levels and falling. K Post 958 12th July 2016 The share price has held off well from droping below the £2 mark, interesting, I did think it might have dived under for a bit, holding well at the moment. K | kumala
28/11/2016 10:10 | One can only hope his posts were more sensible in the past then toffeeman. Second to trolls, like larva who I have filtered, the most annoying posts are from non-holders of poorly performing shares who can't help but mention how well they did in the past. To have to read it first thing Monday too... | gleach23
28/11/2016 09:10 | Fair enough just seemed a strange post. I remember the name no doubt a good poster just seemed a bit of a strange one... | allstar4eva
28/11/2016 09:03 | Kumala has been a long term poster on this board who sensibly fell out of love with CPR. | toffeeman
28/11/2016 09:00 | concerns over future UK consumer spending have risen | larva
28/11/2016 08:27 | Wow! You pop on to tell peeps that you sold at £9? What is the point of that? | allstar4eva
28/11/2016 08:21 | Would you like to elaborate a little more on your past success here? I'm sure we'd all appreciate some further detail...it'd pass the time as we suffer down at these levels. ...or perhaps dig out a thread of a share that you bought at £9, sold at 70p and that is now £12...but there again, you'd probably wonder what the point would be and keep quiet. Great shame indeed. :/ | gleach23
27/11/2016 19:28 | Wow. Under 2 quid....been sliping away for sometime looking at the chart. Shame. Great shame indeed. CPR had it all in the past. Great leadership with prooven track record. Good expansion from its first warehouse in Barking and first store in canning town to flotation and expansion into Europe and a shareprice pre market circa 70p to a high of circa £12. Where did it all go wrong? Mmmmmm.. well at this rate the share price is heading sub £1. The company is certinly not the same now as in years gone by and this is reflected in the share price and once when the smaller local retailer was geting beaten by the mighty rise n expansion of CPR the tables have turned.CPR was my main holding for many years. And indeed i invested heavily from market launch and enjoyed the heady ride with welcomed divi's. Not a holder any more selling my final stock on the decline at just under £9Have v fond memories of CPR for many reasons and still follow the progress of the company with interest. Not a buyer at these prices. GLA...K | kumala

16/11/2016 06:26 | Well said Eva I have just spent a few grand on new carpets: yes I went into Carpetsh1te and looked, but ended up buying from a local 'old fashioned' retailer who knew something about carpets, provided a great service and was cheaper (much) when you include fitting. So what is CPR's competitive advantage? 'Free' credit doesn't exist - it's in the price (always was and always will be - although when interest rates were 15% you could tell a story and CPR did!) economies of scale? - nope not if the little local shed can do better on price. Branding? Certainly not - you might be able to see if someone wears a Paul Smith suit but not where the carpet came from - and do you want to tell your friends that you bought in CPR? - I think not. Personnel - no way!! Service? you've got to be joking. Physical environment of the store? - Does it matter when you buy carpet once every 5 years at most - nah. So if I had the bottle I would be shorting CPR not buying stock - I have tried it in the past (search this thread) and the free float made it too strong and the market remained irrational for longer than I could margin! Now someone else can work through the financial fundies! | toffeeman
15/11/2016 19:57 | Rather than saying that you have researched this to death and fundamentals are great tell us what you have found out and give us your view of the fundamentals why you like them so much. We can then all decide for ourselves if the fundamentals are great - that way you don't sound like a ramper. It would be very useful to all. It might also start a useful debate. I have nothing against you would just like to hear something other than directors have bought loads and their salaries aren't great. They may be extremely wealthy and/or have other on exec roles have you checked that? Salary is not everything if you own multiple income producing assets. I just want to hear something useful rather than the constant "I just have / am about to top up!" | allstar4eva
15/11/2016 14:07 | Thanks for the support supasapi, everyone should do whatever they think best for them and I always say IMO/DYOR. No one should ever buy or sell based on any board or poster, not sure what eva is all about as I have her filtered but you'd think she'd be over it by now. I am simply doing what I know best. Researched this company very well and fundamentals are great, it's a recovery story with a strategy that's working and its effects clearly showing. I am also looking at the board, which bought at 400p, heavily bought at 300p and bought a few more at 200p. They put a LOT of their personal money into this company (it's REALLY a lot if you look at their salaries) and I am convinced they know best and trust their instincts. My research agrees. It was the exact same story in THT. Then in Dixons. I learnt lots of lessons from those two and learnt from past mistakes. I am buying when everyone is hating it and will sell when even the baker wants in. But everyone do as you believe best. If you have something to say about the company please share, if you insist on personal attacks and irrelevant things I'll filter, common sense. | blondeamon |
