todays statement seems to have created a little activity at least.

Growth from internet sales, noe 6.6% of total sales and increasing on a month by month basis.

Company chairman also said at AGM in reply to a question that they were looking into paying a dividend.

Company ahead of budget and profitable on every month thhis year to date.

Company may well buy more shares at this level having had confirmation of continuing shareholder approval.

I think you are correct and have just bought some
strong brand name, rollout potential and profits
Certain BtoC's are recovering strongly now eg. LMC and this could do likewise

Up and away now so it seems, small purchases will be enough to drive this in my view as the MM will dive it higher with little downside likely.

Reasonable set of results - with a £3m valuation this company could look very undervalued in 12 months or so, particularly with the likely flip to trading this year by the Golden Jubilee.

I agree.

I cannot see any mention on the issue of pensions. Notwithstanding my previous caution I like the look of the company, the product, the NAV and the recent share buyback. This morning I bought a very modest amount. Would have bought more if I could have been satisfied on FRS 17.

Btw - I like the sensible plan to revert to its established brand name!

It looks like they are turning the business around. With todays results showing a Net asset value of 24p per share they look undervalued to me, in view of the potential growth possible thought the internet sites. In addition as soon as they let the Strand Offices another source of cash flow will appear.

So a pension fund must think they are worth buying following todays announcement.

Another large chunk changing hands today, with the price slipping a bit also cannot be a good sign.

As regards Benham, what do you see as the real benift to CME?

If things are going well then the growth could fuel itself on through the net business with no need to increase overheads.

Sales between Flying Brands are concerning as this is horse trading between themselves.

Acol

The scheme looked fairly healthy at 1 July 2000 with a surplus of £1.4m - looks in much better shape than most schemes. OK, things may have gone downhill for pension shemes since then, but doesn't look to bad to me! OK, FRS 17 will reduce profitability in a couple of years time, but the charge is likely increase anyway as currently £nil due to amortisation of the surplus. I suppose we will just have to wait and see..the FD probably didn't know the answer to your question and so may not be that sinister!

I think this is a potential growth story - I would like to see them buy Benham from Flying Brands...why did they leave this business with FB rather than including in the demerged entity. FB seem to want out of it now and so they might be able to pick it up for a good price.

Looks interesting to me, but may take a while to come good. As always DYOR!

It has come to my attention that Tim Dunningham is leaving Flying Brands (flying flowers), could it be that he will be spending more time with this business having added to his holding in June of last year.

Flying Brands seems to have recovered with little growth left, could be thats why he may be more interested in something with world appeal?

Or maybe its just time to quit and look for new pastures.

Are there any holders of this company?

I was quite interested in this business, believing that it is basically undervalued. However, my main concern was with regard to its defined benefit pension scheme. Latest company report does not show any intention to move over to a defined contributions scheme. In fact, I have to say that IMO the projected assumptions in para 26 appear on the generous side. In other words, I think that the fund may possibly reveal a significant shortfall in the not too distant future.

I decided to raise my concern by e-mailing the finance director - Michael Hall. I sent my message on the 2nd Jan and received a reply on the 18th of this month. He apologised for the delay in replying, stating that the Company was now in a closed period leading up to the results on 15 March.

Cynics might say that was very convenient. I believe that he could have replied sooner when he would have been able to give me an answer to my question.

DYOR but I will be holding fire until I get some clarification on this matter.

Well the lowdown on this of recent is that you can see the directors have been buying chunks also buying to cancell shares which is what part of the heavy trading seems to have been about.

If you follow the recent news you will see that they will no doubt be showing profits.

I suggest you research a lot on Flying Brands (was Flying Flowers) and you will get the background.

As you can see from the price I first opened the thread, they are going north.Still a LONG way to go in my view but DYOR.Good Luck.

Three major trades yesterday, or was it one or two??
Two greens of 2,314,500 one at 19.95p and one at 19.75p, a rollover I suspect.
but why the MM buy of 2,314,500 @ 19.95.
Were all three trades really one transaction??
Confused!
Jim
