08/5/2008 15:37 | It looks as if Altium's recent reiteration of their 230p target has pepped things up a little. Might we see Seymour Pearce upgrade soon? | spaceparallax
09/4/2008 20:43 | The new branch of Carluccios in St Pancras Station has just started trading. It looked reassuringly busy. | rnicolson
04/4/2008 20:58 | Shearlock's Small Cap tipsheet 4 April 2008 "Positive update from Carluccio's Despite evidence of a general slowdown in the restaurant trade, Carluccio's latest trading update is generally positive, reporting a 19 per cent uplift in sales over the first half of the current year. There are no figures for like-for-like sales. The company reckons its low average spend per head (at just £12) and all-day opening formula will protect it from the worst of the slowdown. Tipped here in April 2006 at 159p, the shares look solidly grounded at the current 142.5p. Medium-term takeover potential argues for a firm hold." | greek islander
28/3/2008 22:14 | Irish Independent review of the new Carluccios in Dublin: | rnicolson
25/3/2008 09:37 | Carluccios certainly active and if the expected downturn in the market is not anything like as severe as the press have indicated then Carluccios are well placed for a big upturn in volume, profitability and share price This could be a banker for 2008. Looks well set to make a big mark this year. | greek islander
14/3/2008 09:11 | Saw the Terminal 5 site on tv today. Looks good. A great new line of business if they can crack the airport market. | u813061
04/3/2008 09:08 | Thanks Hyb. They certainly manage to select the best spots. | spaceparallax
03/3/2008 17:32 | Smashing new premises just opening this evening in Dublin | hybrasil
03/3/2008 16:26 | RN, Thanks. It sounds to be another plum location. | spaceparallax
01/3/2008 21:05 | I noticed that the new Carluccio's in St Pancras, which is currently being fitted out, is not located in the station undercroft with the majority of the shops and restaurants but is situated on the main station platform level in a truly great position, just off the main axis of the station. There should be lots of space for 'outdoor seating' under the main station roof and be a good spot to sit and watch the Eurostar trains entering and leaving the station. Hats off to Carluccio's management for securing such a good site (is it the St Pancras station old booking hall or waiting room?). It should do excellent trade when it opens later this year. | rnicolson
20/2/2008 11:55 | Sp recovering nicely. | spaceparallax
01/2/2008 10:28 | GI, I suspect that Antonio is the sort of dedicated character who will always maintain a keen interest from a matter of family pride. | spaceparallax
01/2/2008 10:09 | sp The original owner has very little to do with the company these days though he does have some input into the menus still. More to do with pride these days. Very impressive company though and with a long way to go I think. Good fundamentals. RMH The catering industry is never a safe haven though it offers huge potential. I can see no reason for not investing assuming that (unlike me) you have some cash handy at the moment. The quality of the restaurants is beyond argument and they seem to do well on wine sales which is the secret of making money in this Industry. It is at the top of my must buy list along with ASOS. | greek islander
31/1/2008 13:46 | RMH, My commiserations on CH - nasty downturn. Sadly, it's all part of the share deal; however, that drop was rather extreme. | spaceparallax
31/1/2008 13:24 | Many thanks for that comment space, I will keep them on monitor for the time being.Got caught out on Clapham house, sold at a big loss, reason for my hesitation. | ronmikeh
31/1/2008 12:28 | RMH, have been here for a while, mainly because I've long admired the founder and hsi operating principles; that said, the share price has long included a significant premium due to the potential. I suppose that with the current Market conditions, many will decide that the future potential is likely to dimished to some degree and hence lead to a PER downrating. I'm sticking tight because I see them as a very solidly run company, offering a quality product - so long as that doesn't change, I'd expect them to weather difficult conditions at the expense of less able outfits. | spaceparallax
31/1/2008 10:14 | Looking at this company,no debt, owners well committed as share holders, well run.Does the current price offer a good entry level or does anybody think this will fall futher with the negativity shown with consumer confidence? Any thoughts?? | ronmikeh
31/1/2008 10:03 | Good TS. It would be interesting to gauge the potential growth had we not experienced the discernible tougher trading. | spaceparallax
30/1/2008 12:56 | Looking rather interesting - methinks the contents of a TS might be being leaked. | spaceparallax
25/1/2008 13:46 | GI, Thanks for that - would suggest they're a good Buy. | spaceparallax
25/1/2008 09:55 | Full page feature in Guardian today - very optimistic about outlook | greek islander
23/1/2008 19:07 | Anyone planning on going to the AGM next week? I'm not sure how shareholder friendly it will be, don't think I can make it but if I can I will. | blued
23/1/2008 16:48 | eith erway hoders from six months ago should have sold on stop losses. I wil lreinvest if the expected downturn in consumer spnding fails to materialise. OTherwise this is fairly priced, as is the market, on expected economic retraction | silverfern
23/1/2008 14:37 | Hard to know whether the recent fall is simply a reflection of general sentiment or due to more specific news to come. | spaceparallax
10/1/2008 13:42 | As you suggest, CARL ain't Michelin star, but they do offer a very solid, good quality formula. | spaceparallax |
