14/9/2017 09:00 | In my opinion holders are much more likely to be biased than non-holders. | rcturner2
14/9/2017 08:57 | Got caught out on interserve today... that's life you win some you lose some... | losses
14/9/2017 08:49 | Some view these boards as an opportunity to attempt to persuade others to buy shares in a company in which they are invested after all the way to make a profit is by selling them to a willing buyer. I treat these boards as a source of information - good and bad about a company's prospects which points me to do more research , determining whether I should invest in them or not. I welcome all serious info and discussion. | fenners66
14/9/2017 08:43 | And in other news .... Interserve, the international support services and construction group, provides an update on current trading and progress on its Energy from Waste contracts. Trading in the UK in July and August was disappointing, particularly in support services, but also in the construction division. As a result of this, the Board now believes that the outturn for the year will be significantly below its previous expectations. UK construction and support services - sounds familiar ? Interserve down 50% ! | fenners66
14/9/2017 08:38 | @racg - Why do you (and others) keep persisting with this ridiculous notation that a person MUST have a financial interest in a share in order to have and to voice an opinion about it? Have you never heard of watchlists? Or of monitoring a share before seeking to invest in it? Or of rejecting said share as a potential investment AFTER monitoring it for some time? I'd imagine most of the people here with (currently) negative views are in a similar position to myself. Which is that we don't know what the future of Carillion (as a company) will be because there are just too many uncertainties right now. But on balance it seems likely that the short-medium term prospects are quite negative, and will remain so until the company provide details of how they intend to address the balance sheet issues (among other things, such as also proving they can make a profit). And the share price direction is likely to reflect this, especially due to the prospect of new shares being issued at a lot lower price than the current share price (be it via a RI or D4E etc), with the share price likely falling to match the issue price (over time, if not immediately on announcement). If the company fixes the balance sheet and address several other concerns, then, and only then, might they become a potential investment (as a recovery play). This is why I am monitoring it (and I'm sure there are others doing the same). Or of course another story could play out whereby the company finds another way to fix the balance sheet (not sure how myself though), and/or that any new shares are issued at a higher price than expected, such as at today's share price (45p), in which case the outlook and share price of Carillion might rise to reflect the better than expect turn of events. But either way the current situation can only be described as uncertain. Now if you wish to back your positive view financially, and take the undoubted risk that always comes with this high level of uncertainty, then good luck to you. But don't expect everyone else to share in your risk taking, and certainly don't expect or request people to stop posting JUST because they don't share your appetite for risk. Since other people are going to be more cautious before committing to a share financially, and these people have just as much right to post their views on the company as you do. | calahan
14/9/2017 08:30 | I refer to the company's announcements and draw attention to areas for discussion. I have given no predictions for the share price and would not be a buyer as I am looking for dividends. Correcting some of the statements on here like " the New FD takes the credit for opening an investigation" and questioning how he could still hold any credibility when he signed off the accounts. His later departure shows that I was not alone in that thinking and those with influence in these matters clearly felt the same way, Go ahead ignore everything I write , its no problem - I am merely raising discussion points. | fenners66
14/9/2017 08:07 | From another board. I emailed JD about 9:00pm...got a reply from Mr Denning about 25 mins later! Thank you for your email. Your comment ‘if it’s true’ is well made, because what some of the press have reported about protecting directors’ bonuses is not true. In Carillion’s 2014 Annual Report it announced that new provisions were being introduced, in compliance with the Corporate Governance Code, in order to increase the company’s ability to reduce or claw back bonuses and share awards. Yours sincerely John Denning | excell1
13/9/2017 16:30 | I put this on my watch list as a dividend stock. Did not buy - at that stage I had not done enough research. As soon as they announced that the finance team were completely incompetent back in July (?) there was no way I was going to buy. No prospect of a dividend here for ....... ever(?). I have not shorted this either - but in hindsight this was one of the easiest ever to call. | fenners66
13/9/2017 16:17 | Fenners I agree with you... sometimes people fool themselves but this can be a turn around story... seen it with GLEN and Kaz etc..Will you be a buyer at some point?I'm here waiting for the opportunity but seeing how things pan out. | losses
13/9/2017 16:14 | Come on then hopeful longs - give me a reason why the FD left this week. I'll give you a little while to see how creative you can be and come up with something, not withstanding you have had the best part of 3 days to try already..... | fenners66
13/9/2017 14:36 | RCTurner/Wallywoo - I think, like myself, people had their hands severely burnt by CLLN. I was in it for the divi and should have paid more attention to the dire straight that the company are in but....hey ho. I do think the share price will drop further especially in view of the necessity of a rights issue. I still have a small number of shares. | slaccs
13/9/2017 13:10 | I know RC, it is fascinating the mind tricks people play on themselves. But hey none of us are immune. I said it then (in June) as I saw it, and will say it again. All the signs show this is going much lower. | wallywoo
13/9/2017 13:02 | Reading back those old messages is very interesting. Total head in the sand from holders and aggressive attempts to shut down debate. JAF was one of the worst and he still posts on here as if he was the one who called it right lol. | rcturner2
13/9/2017 12:54 | Sure also Wally.That means we will never converse again. | excell1
13/9/2017 12:52 | Sure no worries excel, will catch up back with you when this is less than 10p in a month or 2. Deja vu, anyone! | wallywoo
13/9/2017 12:50 | They are currently 45p not £4 or even £2. Thanks for your kind offer of a supposed board conversation but I will respectfully decline your offer on this occasion. | excell1
13/9/2017 12:40 | lol, yeh yeh, "this is going to double cheap as chips, the only reason it is down is because of the shorters and they will burn" heard it all before. Would you like me to provide a link to the board conversation I had when this was £2 a share and lots of bargain hunters posting. How did that end? The short percentage was at a very similar stage to now! | wallywoo
13/9/2017 12:29 | There is only one muppet here and also a wally. | excell1
13/9/2017 10:50 | wake up muppets, this is still the most shorted stock on the market and shorts are increasing not closing. You could buy here, but I think you would have better luck on the GG's! Ok one or two shorters took profilts when the share price fell from 200p to 40ish. But they are all increasing theirs shorts now | wallywoo
12/9/2017 22:40 | Momentum building here. Buying before inters, Another trip to 75p or higher as shorts close. Could be a good trade! | kmann
12/9/2017 17:57 | At last some good news, Resigning is the right thing to do. More should follow out the board room door, Like the banks before, sleeping at the helm while Rome burns. | elmfield
12/9/2017 14:08 | I can see this being 50p before the weekend. | lodgeview |
