I gave up on the IC a while ago - because its tips were so bad. I know you shouldn't buy shares on the basis of media tips but, like many other investors, I sometimes have. Its general news coverage is pretty good, but the tips are so bad, I cancelled my subscription. Never again.

A RICS report has called for the ‘primary mechanism’ for valuing real estate to shift from estimating the ‘exchange price’ to values based on future income calculated using discounted cashflow (DCF). [DCF in general use for infrastructure. If adopted what will be the effect on reported NAVs?]

-Over three-quarters of UK commercial real estate investors and property professionals polled in a study by Deepki predicted the capital value and rental income of their real estate assets would depreciate by over 20% if their ESG performance failed to improve. [Watch the GRESB score.]

-Care home operators’ costs are set to rise by a total of £165m across the sector this year due to the increased costs of labour, supply and finance, representing a 30% increase, according to research by Knight Frank. [Might have an adverse effect on Impact Healthcare Reit, Target Healthcare REIT ]

Guess investors worried about rising wages and CHT's ability to pass them on. They seem to be doing OK so far!

CTH - a couple of people have asked about this stock recently. I am a fan. They've got great asset backing at c£230m, debt of c£113m, mkt cap £110m. Stock now trading on a discount to tangible book val -debt. Decent banking facility in place with favourable terms.

I know LA's are looking at cost savings across the board and are penny picnhing everywhere they can but there is a limit on what they can do when it comes to vulnerable people. I think we're looking at an average 3% cut to fees across CTH's portfolio. I come to that conclusion after hearing a presentation from the company and from the comments in the most recent AGM stmt.

They have a high level of occupancy with high visibilty and have maintained growth over the last 5 years which has been nothing short of impressive albeit through acqusitions. Dividend growing and at this px the risk/reward trade clearly points lto the upside.

The company has laid its cards on the table in respect to the accounting issues surrounding acqusitions but this still seems to be an issue for investors. The risks in my bview relate to larger than expected fee cuts (-10%) & a housing crash!

at 220p these look a bargain... i understand there is c280k shares knocking about still but take these out of the game and i think we'll start to see a nice steady rise back towards 300p

peace out

I've got patience galore with CTH and SCHE. Happy to sit and wait for years the way these 2 have been motoring so far! (My timing is generally appalling anyway so the 'Buy and sit tight' strategy is the one for me!)
No mention of CTH in the last SCSW newsletter. I wonder if SCHE will be in the next issue of The Momentum Investor?

Many thanks for your target. It will be interesting to see what SCSW and Momentum Investor Newsletters have to say (I subscribe to both).
Another 'shilling' up today I see - Good stuff!

bluenose,

You are right that there is a lack of interest in the shares on AIM at present. However, from my experience interest does slowly pick up one the first set of results are nailed to the board - this generates an inch or two in Investor Chronicle etc

Then you get the odd more adventurous institution buying in which in turn attracts more private punters etc

It certainly wont be a speedy process however!
