04/5/2017 01:59 | Tempus says:"Card Factory has prided itself in keeping prices as low as possible, but a note from Peel Hunt, after a meeting with management, suggests that these have been increased slightly in some ranges, with no effect on volumes. The company has had a few problems sourcing managers, but this is being resolved. Card Factory said at the time of its results last month that it was rolling out new stores and that margins were holding up. The attraction is the 8% yield on the shares, Peel Hunt points out." | masurenguy
29/4/2017 09:04 | very small but +ve mention in shares mag this week , low debt and the competition downsizing was about it.DbD | death by donut
28/4/2017 13:12 | Judging by the recent share price movement, the market clearly is not concerned :) | smokybenchod
20/4/2017 18:37 | What's everyone's view on the new CFO, seems to have had mixed success in his previous roles - should we be worried? | smokybenchod
20/4/2017 16:07 | It is of no concern to me whatsoever. | masurenguy
20/4/2017 15:23 | In response to people's questions/comments directed towards myself. It would be impolite to ignore people masurenguy. But I shall ignore people in future if it's helps you. | 1novice
20/4/2017 14:38 | "I don't wish to start wars here." Well - if so - and since you have already stated that you sold out some months ago, and you don't rate the forward prospects, why are you continuing to post here several times a day? | masurenguy
20/4/2017 14:17 | Look. I don't wish to start wars here. You guys think it's a good investment, it is. Just not long term. But we all have different views | 1novice
20/4/2017 14:15 | Raymond my independent was doing 12 for a £1. Let's not get into a pi$$ing competition :) | 1novice
20/4/2017 14:11 | Billy I know this to be true because I'm a silent partner in a small chain of independents all of who are cheaper than factory. Our margins are 58% gross profit. I also know that factory take the pi$$ with its pricing and quality. It's slogan is also misleading and possibly in breach of advertising rules. I'm an "other" and like for like I'm cheaper and better quality. | 1novice
20/4/2017 14:08 | They were selling reasonable Easter cards 8 for a £1 !!!!! | raymund
20/4/2017 13:57 | 1novice - So your local independent is cheaper than card factory with far superior quality? They are selling quality cards for under £1? How can they possibly be making any money? That doesn't sound very likely to me. If its true you better have a word with their manager and see if you can invest in the business. CARD clearly benefit from massive economies of scale which makes them the big winner in the budget card market. | billytkid2
20/4/2017 13:35 | Bought when 1st floated. Sold last may Garycook. | 1novice
20/4/2017 12:47 | Novice,Bad luck for you then getting out of CARD.At what price did you sell ? | garycook
20/4/2017 08:44 | Hey, I got out of these months ago. As too the cmoment about its not as good as Clinton cards but it's a 1/3 the price. I use my local independent, it's cheaper than factory it has better standard of service and the quality is far superior. But you guys invest away. | 1novice
20/4/2017 08:06 | Of course the Card Factory cards are not as good quality as Clintons.....they are 1/3rd of the price! Most people don't want to pay £4-5 for a card. Its ok if you only buy a couple of cards a year but I have a young family and my kids have lots of friends birthdays. We must buy nearly one card a week and card factory is perfect with a big selection and good price. I also bought CARD at a lot lower levelss earlier in the year but I intend to hold for the long term as I believe the business model works. | billytkid2
20/4/2017 07:49 | M,Totally agree with you.The Noise are just aggrieved that they did not buy CARD at the bottom. | garycook
20/4/2017 07:42 | 1novice: "Masurenguy and what's it's price over the last couple of years?" I couldn't care less about the last couple of years. Investing in anything is also about timing and my entry point here was at 244p in February this year. At yesterdays close of 314p I'm up almost 29% in a couple of months with a 6.3p dividend still to come in June. If you don't rate the forward potential for this share then don't invest in it. The other issues that you raise in this context are just 'noise' ! | masurenguy
20/4/2017 07:41 | It seems that way ! Glad I purchased at 234.I believe CARD can get back to £4. | garycook
20/4/2017 07:15 | Do i see some toasted short fingers on here? | death by donut
20/4/2017 06:14 | With a present 7.66% dividend yield at 3.1450.Not to be sneezed at IMHO. | garycook
20/4/2017 00:51 | Have to say that I've never come out of card factory with anything. The quality is just so poor. The quality and selection at Clintons is far superior. I accept it's more expensive but then if you believe the card is important as I do then you'll pay the extra for it. The share price looks pretty tippy to me so I think I'll give CARD a miss for now as there are better income shares with less risk. | warranty |
