That's good to know otemple3. Let's hope this afternoon's tick up is the start of a grind higher. The 75,750 buy @ 65p reported after the bell should help in that respect and might explain why you found shares hard to come by.

Considering there is a 'seller' here it's bloody hard to buy any. Have managed to pick up 21000 shares today so far at c. 64p but had to break that down into a few trades and once again they are raising the price if I want any more...

EPS this year will depend on how well they have managed the investments. That's tricky; cash in too soon lower profits, don't sell any at all and gains can disappear. It seems like they have done ok with a middle of the road approach. However I see this as gravy rather than the core thesis which is that PMs have stepped up a level leading to a similar step up in activity.

Only if they get rid of the Geodrill management, who pay themselves very handsomely compared to CAPD!

I think Tamesis are too high for 2020 at least on an underlying basis. I'd rather they forecast without the securities gains. 2021 looks too low though, they must be assuming no increase in mining services revenue & securities portfolio loss. 65% utilisation looks potentially low too since they were at 61% in Q3 and have a further 8 rigs that will be deployed in Q4. Some contracts may end but also bidding activity means they may win some extras too.

Good summary in post 418 ds2. I agree - there's a possible one or two-bagger here in a relatively short timeframe if the business continues to thrive as it has. SQC's October article implies around 6.1p EPS this year and 7.5p EPS for next year, whilst Tamesis's August note forecasts 10.7p EPS for this year (including large investment gains) and 8.5p EPS next year (prudently including an investment loss). I assume SQC's numbers are exclusive of investment gains. Either way, the huge tangible NAV (including the cash pile) gives further excellent backing to the current share price. And I suspect there may be upgrades to come.

deanowls...the last notification was on 18th Sept when he had 2.99% or just over 4m shares, down from 28.5m in 2016. I guess we won't have another notification now that he's below 3%, until perhaps on his exit. I notice the quantity available to buy has increased to 162.5k this morning. I take this to be Burton still offering his stock on the release of positive news. With the decent volume we had around the Q3 TU last month I'm optimistic that he'll be cleared soon and take the view that he's presenting a great buying opportunity currently.

I've already included the current $25m value of the securities portfolio in my EV calcs. Obviously, if these do well this will add a nice bonus, but it will be the growth in rig utilisation, which we have seen further signs of today with Firefinch, which will really drive returns.

good post danger 5 X EBITDA if to EV is a decent fair multiple but deeply unexciting if it is growing its earnings (and cash)....EV IMO should benefit as well from the investments continuing to perform Market cap less cash, less investments / EBITDA forecast.....what multiple then?

With a couple of mining services wins, they could easily be doing over $40m EBITDA in 2021 & over $50m in 2022. On the rig side, the company tends to strengthen in both utilisation & ARPOR after commodity prices rise. Tamesis use 5xEBITDA as a fair value estimate. While I'm not a big fan of multiples for multiples sake, this doesn't seem too far fetched for a company that will have grown earnings at 50% compound over those 2 years. Indeed, if there are signs that this mining cycle will be an extended one, or mining services are giving more stable revenues through the cycle then this could be considered low. 5x 2022 EBITDA would see a share price over £2. So 3-4x certainly is possible here in the next year or so, and more if a level of exuberance appears. This makes the risk-reward from these levels highly favourable IMO.

If one compares CAPD with other equipment hire companies, it should probably already be at an share price of at least £1.30 Edit: Its only the incessant seller that is lowering some people's viewpoint as to fair value.

Nice announcement. Hopefully around $8m additional turnover as someone said above, which provides a good chunk of the increase in turnover from $137m expected this year to the $159m forecast for 2021. Still heavily underpinned by NAV, which should be around 60p at this year end. I don't see this as tripling or quadrupling from here, but I think it has a decent chance of doubling to 120p over 2-3 years, and with very limited downside given the multiple and asset backing

Hoping my initial purchase looks well timed. Whilst there are no figures to this RNS I am assuming management would not have released the news in this format if not tangible.

Oversold IMO on the back of the CEY RNS a few weeks ago, which they said was a non-issue for CAPD, so hopefully an RNS like this, maybe another (!), will keep it re-rating back

I’d say you looking at around 8m Usd per year on their rig rate and probably add on services as they go.

Yes while no values given 4 rigs and multi year deal as initial step IMO has to be reasonably material Dyor and first of many I hope!!

Great news today - Firefinch (ex Mali Lithium) and CAPD are in a substantial partnership, with four rigs to be deployed imminently as an "initial" step. Looks like there's plenty more work to come through too, including mining services as well as drilling: Https://uk.advfn.com/stock-market/london/capital-CAPD/share-news/Capital-Limited-New-Contract-Award-Firefinch-Ma/83664234
