Seller still there in size on the RSP even though its pretty well bid. Will smack him for 50k in a momant and see if he moves but maybe it will take results later this month to really clear him out.

I believe the same QS but,

If you want an ideal scenario it’s where you are invested in a business and you can tell how it is performing by the orders said business place with you. This is where capd are in a sweet spot, they will know what rigs and when drilling is planned as they perform that task so they are aware of which horse to back. In theory anyway. Seems to be working for them at the moment.

Would be great to get a couple of announcements on contract wins coming through. Get even 6 of those rigs working and we should be away.

Likewise the underlying investments increase is a decent story in itself IMO....helps add to the value....as long as they take some off the table at varying times....

This is what tells it's own story. Now imagine over 60% on increased fleet size, loads of scope for growth. I normally stick to miners but thought I would have some of the picks and shovels.

Increase in fleet utilisation to 57% (Q1 2019 52%), despite increase in average fleet
to 98 (Q1 2019: 91 rigs)

Blimey, what are Peel Hunt on? Add rather than buy, in the biggest bull market for gold....CAPD's investments alone should add a shed load to their valuation, let alone, potential for further utilisation gains and even pricing gains....only downside on horizon is any impact of COVID no? DYOR

If you look back to the last time there was a gold exploration boom, ROE can be 30% or more. The earliest set of accounts for CAPD I can find is for H1 2009 - check it out. Last year, CAPD generated an Roe of only about 10% or so. In other words, I think their earnings could at least triple vs last year on their existing asset base. (Of course, there would probably be a lag as contracts roll through.)

Peel Hunt have today raised their target price to 85p (from 74p) - still too low imo. Tamesis Partners' 100p is more like it:

Is there anywhere your tentacles don't extend rivaldo? :) Actually probably best not answer that...

SIF - Stock in Focus. The writer says - "My investment focus is increasingly on developing rules-based strategies such as my Stock in Focus portfolio."

As for a link to CAPD's shareholdings, it would be nice but I'm neutral on it. I sense overexcitement currently as they're going up!

You've misjudged my rubbish techie skills deanowls :o))

Nice mention for CAPD in today's monthly SIF portfolio review on Stockopedia (what does SIF stand for?) - CAPD are a core holding:

"Capital (LON:CAPD)

(Original coverage: 02-Jul-2019)

This is the AIM-listed gold mining services contractor formerly known as Capital Drilling. It’s been in the portfolio for a full year now, and has been covered in several previous monthly reviews (April, May amp; June).

As I’ve discussed already, I’m having to fight against my instinctive desire to take a profit here. The shares are now at the highest level seen since 2011:

Luckily my rules are on hand to guide me. Capital continues to look affordable, with decent growth prospects.

P/E ratio (f) : 8.9
PEG ratio (f): 0.6
EPS growth (f) : 16.4%
Dividend yield (f) : 2.72%

Quality metrics are impressive, too:

Return on Capital : 18.4%
Return on Equity : 12.7%
Operating Margin : 14.49%

The shares still pass all of my screening rules, except for the lumpy spread, which I don’t see as a reason to sell:

So far, this position has delivered a total return of more than 55% including dividends. I’ll continue to hold the shares for another month."

Just create yourself a googlesheet since you can get stock pricing using the googlefinance() function.

beyond call of duty, but would be great if someone with tech skills far greater than mine (low base!) can put the CAPD shareholdings and a link so the value is updated each day without further input please?

Cheers and good sunny days one and all

More good news from Cora Gold this morning - it's now up to almost 13p, so CAPD's holding is worth around £1.13m.

And Awale Resources is up 12% to CADS0.19, so CAPD's holding is now worth around £0.93m.

Martin, noted :o)) I'll see if others agree.

Hi rivaldo

It would be going beyond the call of duty to do so, but I do think that adding those 9 lines would be very useful.

On a separate tack, cannot get a quote to sell 5k currently but did get a quote for buying 100k albeit I have not done so :-)

Cheers, Martin

It's certainly possible :o))

But I'm wary of making the thread header too long as it would add another 9 lines of script, and personally I always hate having to scroll down through endless text or press the Skip Header button every time I visit a thread. If there's consensus to do so then I'll insert the links for each quote, though really anyone interested could easily set it up for themselves.
