US futures pointing to all speed ahead today.
A massive bullish engulfing is on the cards for CPI.
Investors who have been watching this for months waiting for the best bargain possible must be getting itchy fingers.

Alternative view on why they would announce something apparently negative and yet innocuous days before the results: aren't private equity groups rumoured to be sizing Capita up? A pristine clean slate of accounts is what they first want to see, isn't it?

Waiting game.
Traders are waiting to see which way it goes.
Investors are staring at it and reading the recent RNSs over and over.

You may well be right.
But the market is one big psychological game.
A beaten-down company's share price will often begin to rise while the last remaining bad news trickles out.
With results due in a few days, this is obviously an attempt to get a base built in the share price.
Interesting to see how the psychology works out.
After all, it is still a company with £500m+ PBT and a market cap of £3.3bn.
And it is in a secular growth sector once it gets its house sorted out.

Well the CEO may well be for the chop. Performance is poor and the old trick of inorganic growth cannot be applied. This set of accounting adjustments sounds and looks like an attempted exercise to demonstrate that the stables have been cleaned. My sense is that there is more to come. Whilst the existing management are in place they cannot clean the stables as they made the mess in them, and to clean them honestly would result in them getting the chop. So I think there is yet more bad news to come. If it does there will be changes at the top and this time the stable will be cleaned and the results will take a serious beating.

M, RR. is one of the few cases where I was ahead of the curve,
as you might remember from my posts, I'm usually country mile behind!.

Questor was on the money with CPI, not sure how often that can be said.
