22/6/2020 12:27 | Interesting times. Lots of sentiment driven pricing in the market at the moment. Newsflow is still pretty scarce and buyers are staying out of the more concerning stocks like capita as there is potential for significant downside if news is poor. Interesting to see the targets some folk have posted. I took a position in the mid 30s, hoping that agm newsflow is good and Capita rerates. If it shows signs of becoming the institutional darling it once was, I am hoping for circa £1 and some bouncing between £1 to £1.50 until we get a definitive view on whether it has sorted itself out or not.If the news is bad, all bets are off. 21/6/2020 09:08 | Thanks for the link to EducationInvestor Global. 500m is really good news, just on numbers view, it is of the order needed IM Guess. It equated to a 30p rights call on 1.67m shares. Great! I feel 30p more relieved. I rooted through to find estimate a P&L effect without luck. Education Software Solutions is a trading distinction of activities run through a big company Capita Business Solutions Ltd. Relevant numbers aren't obtainable like for Eclipse, perhaps P&L is a plus (like CFG disposal). hxxps://www.capita-r hxxps://www.capita-s In the YE19 accounts education software was quotes as an example of how value is added (P8 of YE19 acs) P23 about Reading Cloud, Parental Engagement, & Sims8, Literacy 360 and 8 million students signed up to it. How well would this would suit Cov19 home based learning!! This is the sort of move that resetting the balance sheet ought to be about. Offloading CFG in "turnaround" achieved IMO a much longer term objective IMO. "Selling the family silver" as someone on this thread said raised cash & when you think about it, avoided bad distraction had CPI had owned Link in the Woodford fall with its parallels to Arch Cru. Good! @dealy - I know what you mean about nil interest, CPI was my only equity pre crisis. The recovery play from 100p looked very do-able before it became a recovery from this level. Since then other recoveries like ones you mention haven't seem a bad alternative to market uncertainties. AA & CINE, NEX, AML, SHI + some others. I hope to find plays on sector recoveries as things pan out because of how absorbed in it you have to be. You want to be able to go out shopping! hxxps://www.capita-r | owlbaby
21/6/2020 08:56 | It is June now, the market more like a casino these days, so hardly applies. As for CPI. I would hope a nice bounce might be possible tomorrow with that after market news, imagine FTSE will open Sunday night down after US Friday, but be good if CPI could add a few pence! | bookbroker
21/6/2020 08:40 | My advice “sell in May and go away” This conveniently coincides with the next wave of the market crash. “What Is "Sell in May and Go Away"? "Sell in May and go away" is a well-known financial-world adage. It is based on the historical underperformance of some stocks in the "summery" six-month period commencing in May and ending in October, compared to the "wintery" six-month period from November to April. If an investor follows the this strategy, they would divest their equity holdings in May (or at least, the late spring) and invest again in November (or the mid-autumn).” | hodhasharon
21/6/2020 08:38 | “IMO breaking up some of the capita group is a great way to realise the jewels this company has. And quickly get them back on their feet again.” Which bits do you think us private investors will end up with? The shyte as always. | hodhasharon
20/6/2020 20:15 | Little snippet on the education investor site also mentions the £500m valuation hxxps://www.educatio Exclusive: FTSE 250-listed Capita eyes £500m sale of education software solutions division Requires login 18/06/2020 Capita will look to sell its education software solutions (ESS) unit for at least £500 million as the listed business services provider’s board this week prepares to approve an auction, EducationInvestor Global can exclusively reveal | mbaxter

20/6/2020 18:16 | So we had a disposable of the legal business announced Friday, for a very rich multiple plus on the same day confirmation that they are going to sell the education software business. And then next week there will be a trading statement before the Agm which I expect to be positive (also a read through from Serco's statement last week). So all in all I think we could easily see 60p next week | dealy |
