Everyone is getting into Petro Matad - MATD ahead of results on its 6 well fully funded onshore drilling program targeting 2 billion barrels recoverable.

It dwarfs UKOG.

expect the share price to be around these levels for a while considering the size of the placing -

It does stir interest though -

A a general rule is to short anything that tries to go into Nigeria.

COPL proving the general rule is usually right.

Will fall under.0025p considering the new shares , not the RNS it required, sad note for payroll, not for any other reason, mean no money to pay staff, this will last only six month, disappointed

Sounds wierd, why is the 20% shareholder getting all riled up at the 80% shareholder, knowing they haven't got the money to do anything yet and are trying to get it?

Doesn't sound like they are the best of friends does it?

I've only recently bought into COPL. However my misgiving is it's association with Shoreline Energy, a company controlled by Kola Karim who 'acquired' all the assets of African Eagle Resources (AFE) which quietly disappeared without trace along with all our money. Any thoughts or comments ? Thanks.

Well they'll hopefully get this ironed out soon with the rest of the funding and get on with getting these assets developed.

Ed.

Guys,

Well hopefully they'll get that advanced $100m services contracted signed off. SLB still looks the most likely candidate for that given their involvement in the neighbouring block. Then Art just needs to cover his end of the financing and arrange a rig and we should be good to go for year end. Cap is stunningly low if Art gets the show in the road here. Estimated production is from 16,000bopd to 25,000bopd (gross) from this appraisal drilling depending on how many of the wells they drill from node 1, 3 or 4 wells. Gonna be the oil co of 2019 if he can get his end covered. Having big partners lined up for the offtake, developmental financing and service financing would be a big help for COPL to close on their end of the deal. Fingers crossed for big news this month now that talks are at an advanced stage with the service provider.

Regards,
Ed.

Looking at the accounts it’s great news they have a 50 million funding facility, they will need to raise end of September so let’s hope the share price is multiples of the price now to reduce dilution, should be an interesting high volume day today

Canadian Overseas Petroleum Files Q2 2018 ResultsCalgary, Canada, August 14, 2018 – Canadian Overseas Petroleum Limited ("COPL" or the "Company") (XOP: TSX-V) & (COPL: LSE), an international oil and gas exploration and development company focused on offshore Africa, announces the filing of the second quarter results ending June 30, 2018.During the second quarter of 2018, the Company continued to work with its investment bankers and its joint venture partner Shoreline Energy to source funds for its appraisal/development project at OPL 226, offshore Nigeria.Arthur Millholland, President & CEO, commented:"A major component to our financing activities is the credit facility of up to US$50 million into our subsidiary ShoreCan from The Mauritius Commercial Bank Limited and Trafigura, agreed to and released on July 30, 2018. As shareholders can see, the financing package we are working on is significantly larger than we initially set out to complete ? thus requires more participants while at the same time expanding and accelerating our development well planning. Submission of this expanded program on OPL 226 to the Concessionaire NNPC is expected to occur in the near term.Concurrently, we are working on the credit facility's conditions which include a binding agreement and also are engaged in late stage discussions with an offshore oil services group for the provision of the required offshore services for a deferred fee. We are very pleased with how things are progressing."The results and associated interim filing documents, including the Financial Statements and the Management's Discussion and Analysis, can be viewed under the Company's name at www.sedar.com or at the Company's website at www.canoverseas.com.About the Company:The Company is actively pursuing opportunities in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa in partnership with Shoreline Energy International Limited ("Shoreline") as part of its strategy to generate stable cash flow from secure offshore and onshore assets. The Company and Shoreline, through their jointly-held affiliated company Shoreline Canadian Overseas Petroleum Development Corporation ("ShoreCan"), have acquired 80% of the share capital, and have taken over the management of Essar Exploration and Production Limited (Nigeria) ("Essar Nigeria"). ShoreCan has applied to the concessionaire NNPC for formal consent for the change in control of Essar Nigeria. Essar Nigeria holds an attractive oil appraisal and development project in shallow to mid
