05/1/2017 00:40 | Well according to me Rousseau Asset management could only add about 40M more shares before they would get into trouble. Who knows though? Maybe they will take it over? "Do not become a 20% or greater shareholder without first speaking with Canadian legal counsel. Canadian securities laws prohibit acquisitions of outstanding securities of an issuer that result in an investor holding 20% or more of a class of voting or equity securities of a Canadian public company without making a formal takeover bid (that is, a public tender offer). There are a few exceptions to this requirement, including purchases through private agreements and limited public market purchases, but it is important to get specific legal advice about them before increasing your ownership level to 20% or more." | ryeguy

04/1/2017 18:20 | in the vox podcast after the duster the ceo said he expected exxon to review the seismic data and announce their findings by end of Q1/Q2 so would be extremely surprised (but very pleased!) to hear anything about exxon review or 2nd well before then. also, we know that the canadian stock exchange can only issue fundraisings at a minimum of the equivalent to 3p/share so this rise looks to be a simple oversold situation that is being corrected to the correct value the market thinks it should be,whatever that may be. further to this,if copl were looking to raise funds in canada at 3p/share equivalent then its possible, though very unlikely imho, that some wealthy investors/institutio the 3p equivalent minimum fundraising requirement in canada puts a pretty firm 3p base price behind them. it will be interesting to see where the market re-values us but I think 3p will be the new minimum base. | lithological heterogeneities

04/1/2017 13:56 | Given the failure of the drill and the lack of cash (just $3.7m on 20 September 2016), is there a Plan B? RNS Number : 9540O Canadian Overseas Petroleum Ltd 11 November 2016 extract ... Currently, the Company does not have material cash inflows and/or adequate financing to develop profitable operations. The Company is pursuing exploration projects and contracts that will require substantial additional financing before they are able to generate positive operating cash flows. Accordingly, the Company's continued successful operations are dependent on its ability to obtain additional financing. There is no assurance that the Company will be able to obtain adequate financing in the future or that such financing will be obtained on terms advantageous to the Company. With no assurance such financing will be obtained in future, there may be significant doubt the Company will be able to continue as a going concern. These financial statements do not give effect to adjustments that would be necessary to the carrying values and classifications of assets and liabilities should the Company be unable to continue as a going concern. | leedskier
