Currency smuggling rings are not listening, however, and are exporting the currency for profit while squeezing the already cash-strapped economy.

“Zimbabweans living in the diaspora in South Africa do not want to stand in long bank queues when they return home. So they stock up on bond notes in exile before boarding buses home,” Garikai explains.

Depending on how the result of the court case goes later this year, i would expect Cambria to take a duel listing on the Zimbabwe stock exchange. The Exchange itself is at a high and it would also allow Cambria to raise new money for further investments. We shall see !.

Zimbabwe Securities commission to introduce online trading

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe (SECZ) says it will soon introduce online trading and reporting of securities transactions and investments for the capital markets to promote financial inclusion and deepen local capital markets.

SECZ chief executive, Tafadzwa Chinamo told business leaders at the rebranding of Old Mutual Custodial Services that the commission was working on a number of initiatives to widen participation in capital markets by locals.

If these companies (all or some) are behind any AIM listed company, people should look at the dilution history of that company, in general they may find dilution - consolidation - dilution pattern, no matter how good the company, if you are going to keep getting diluted to keep a company afloat, what's the point, It's you who are feeding money to them, source of income is shareholders.

Do go back and check those penny stocks that you may have been diluted out in the past, were these companies all or some may be behind those companies too?

Why Africa –and Zimbabwe- should go cashless

India has lately been pursuing an ambitious goal: a cashless economy.

Despite early missteps and frustrations, it will turn out to be a change for the better for the country’s 1.31 billion people.

Africa should set a similar goal – and take the first step by establishing a monetary union.

Hi Bean02, lots of people like the dividend, i like the blue sky going forward. Each to their own and no-one is wrong. I added my usual £100 after posting. I was hoping for 1p but after seeing the 2x50k buys I had to take 1.079 and got circa 8k shares.

Regards.

Oh don't get me wrong I'm not in the least interested in a divi certainly not at this stage. But that update will be viewed very positively and it's only been good news for some time that continues to be overlooked.

Hi Bean02, everyone,
My hope for Cambria going forward would be to win the court case in November and hopefully President Mugabe looses next years election and there is a peacefull transition of power. After those hurdles have been cleared i would want the company to invest in new ventures rather than giving out a dividend. Each to their own hopes but i think we can agree there could be, exciting times ahead.

regards.

Presumably next near term news which will be positive is the capital reorganisation to cancel deferred shares and share premiumAccount reducing the nominal value fr om 1 to .8 resulting in £3.2m being credited to p n l account. This will eliminate £3.1m deficit resulting in reserve of £945k and allow them to make dividend payments in the future. Not sure in timeline if that though.
