17/5/2021 18:18 | Many thanks BG, from another bg ;) In the name of 'research' I popped into the CB shop in Kingsheath a couple of weeks ago and the girl there told me the franchisee has 7 shops. The smaller cakes/slices were excellent and easily enough for 2 people. | parttime
17/5/2021 15:39 | Many thanks - Sukh & Pardip were top drawer | brummy_git
17/5/2021 11:45 | The 12% per annum cagr for 'like for like' is great! However I think you forgot add in the store number expansion when making your prospective valuation Brummy_git. Maybe I heard it wrong :) around 28:18 minutes PS great vid btw. Really liked the two gents in charge of Cake Box too. | thelongandtheshortandthetall

30/4/2021 22:25 | Hi all, My mate Peter @Conkers3 and myself did a ‘Twin Petes Investing’ Podcast last week and CBOX was one of the Stocks we discussed. Neither of us hold it at the moment but to me it looks a very decent play to stick away and capture some tasty (geddit?) growth. In this one I started discussing how I use Spreadbets to gear-up my Returns but in a low-risk way and very much treating my Spreadbet Account like normal Shares. As always we also chatted about loads of other Stocks and Ideas for research and a fair bit of educational stuff with regards to Investing and Portfolio Management. Anyway, if you use Youtube, Apple, Audioboom, Overcast, Google+ or Spotify you can find it under the 'Conkers Corner' Channel (you want Podcast TPI 46) and you can find it on Soundcloud at the link below. I hope you enjoy it and find it useful, we try to keep them light and they are totally unscripted, with the intent being that it is like you are eavesdropping on us having a chat down the local boozer. Cheers, WD @wheeliedealer And you can hear it on YouTube here: | thewheeliedealer

08/2/2021 13:00 | Featured in today's Investor's Champion update – Cake Box has remarkably (in the current climate) opened its 150th store, the 66th since its IPO on AIM in June 2018. No new money was raised on AIM Admission, highlighting the cash generative nature of the business with cash flow well able to support the ambitious growth prospects. | energeticbacker
21/1/2021 00:21 | I've just had a brief look at Cakebox and it looks like it might be a decent business. Just a few things bothering me. In 2020FY cakebox opened 20 stores at a cost of £2.1m = £100k each. Does that sound right? Maybe for a Domino's or McDonald's but seems a bit expensive to me to fit out a small shop with a big fridge and a display counter? Also the inventory level seems too high. I assume most of it is equipment waiting to be fitted into new stores but why would have a warehouse with £1.4m of the stuff? Shouldn't inventory be described a bit better considering what happened to Patisserie Valerie not long back? Thanks | cj45
18/1/2021 08:08 | Crispin, it is pricey. However, there's a growing number of people who are looking for vegan foods. The Sikh community in the midlands and London ordered these cakes on a daily basis for various occasions (even during lockdowns). This trend will only continue. | shammytime
09/12/2020 20:10 | Still think this has more to go but may be consolidation phase for a few days. Sold out today | shammytime
07/12/2020 13:31 | Moving nicely under the radar. A clean breakout, fully expect 250p in a few days | shammytime
27/11/2020 12:57 | An incredibly popular business in the Midlands. Always busy | shammytime
23/11/2020 16:40 | Cake Box Holdings has demonstrated remarkable resilience in its half year to 30 September 2020. Investor's Champion reports in their daily vaccine countdown update that despite a period of 6 weeks when all its stores were closed, overall revenue only declined 2% to £8.59m, with pre-tax profit 4% lower at £1.66m - note the high 19% margin. | energeticbacker
12/10/2020 16:32 | bookbroker, Cake Box sell cakes in shops. It does not have cafes. | martin49
12/10/2020 07:30 | Over-valued at this level, can see another CAKE( Patisserie Valerie), just do not see the growth in cafes specialising in cream cakes. | bookbroker
29/9/2020 21:29 | Ditchsid, thank you. Note 17 says they're all "Finished goods and goods for resale" which seems quite a narrow description for "ingredients" (and I'm hoping they don't need much packaging to send by vans to stores). | somerset lad
29/9/2020 21:07 | They won't be all finished goods. There must be ingredients, packaging etc. | ditchsid
29/9/2020 18:35 | Does anyone know why inventories (finished goods and goods for resale) at year end were apparently so high relative to turnover (at £1.4m) and why they rose by 54% yoy, so well ahead of turnover? I'd expect sponges to have a short life. | somerset lad
01/9/2020 07:09 | Good strong rebound RNS after Covid. I think this is what the market will want to hear: "In the last three months, since the reopening of the estate, trading has been very strong, with like-for-like sales growth of c.14.1% in franchise stores. Online sales continue to grow, up c.74% compared to the previous year three-month period. The Company is also benefiting from the increasing appeal of its delivery service through Uber Eats, Just Eat and Deliveroo." | tradermel
15/6/2020 09:32 | #CBOX trades on a trailing EV/sales ratio of 3x. This rating is only in line with its franchised food retailer peer group, a surprise given the brisk underlying sales growth @eggfreecakeuk plus a robust balance sheet and a capital light business model. | edmonda |
