Apparently the Norwegian government pays 75% if the cost of the Norwegian wells. So cost exposure to a run of dusters is limited even at the high working interests.

"The second well in the programme is expected to be Lynghaug, Cairn’s first operated well in Norway. Lynghaug (Cairn 50% WI), licence PL758, is expected to spud in Q3 2019. Success in this well could lead to follow on exploration opportunities along the Nordland Ridge. Lynghaug will be drilled by the Transocean Arctic drilling rig. The third well in the programme is Godalen (Cairn 40% WI) in licence PL842, Cairn’s second operated well in Norway, which is expected to spud in Q4 2019. Godalen will also be drilled by the Transocean Arctic. The fourth well in the programme is Chimera (Cairn 60% WI) in licence P2312 in the UK North Sea, Cairn’s second operated well in the UK, which is expected to spud in Q4 2019. In Q4 2018, Cairn agreed to farm out a 40% WI in this licence to Suncor Energy UK." This year's North Sea plans, the first was Presto which was a dud. Chunky stakes in all these in the event of success.

Always good to see activity. But Cairn's Norwegian operation doesn't have a very good record when it comes to finding oil. And it's their first operated well. So I'm nervous. Having said that I'm only a penny away from my stop loss so if the drift down continues, I'll be out soon.

Another troll by the username lsehotdealz haha, share price is stagnant and there’s talks of fundraise at 10p on that board lol desperation has lead to going round posting on different board to prevent share price from dropping, usually ud stay quiet and average down and accumulate if you see huge potential lmaoo he’s spamming all the boards and a newly registered today as a member lol

Bad timing for Cairn when they're trying to farm down in Senegal. Total well result in Senegal expected soon. Could be good or bad for the farm down. With downward pressure on oil price, I feel m bearish about Cairn and have placed a stop loss at 148p.

Oil sector has been more correlated to equities market than oil itself . Both U.K. and US sector ( see XLE ) have underperformed. It's not a Cairn specific issue . I feel the longer Brent stays over 70 the better for the sector and eventually value will return . This is also so as hedged production at good levels will give many a clear EPS forecast and price stability will follow . At Premier's AGM they did refer to institutional share holders stability IMO it will come in H2

It's gotta be where insiders have knowledge of problems. So could be India, SNE, Catcher, Kraken. My own guess is it's SNE where delays are possible due to FAR litigation, cash raising, Africa, etc. Whatever is causing it, it's disappointing.

Thanks for posting. Can't read it but its a positive for me. CNE needs to manage its portfolio risk and 40% of a non operated project is too much. Hopefully, they'll get a good price as there's a lot of big oil interest in the region.
