03/11/2015 22:26 | Yes, I remember those that gained, and how the shareholders lost out, including me. It's going to take some figuring out how to decide the amount of my losses, and maybe I'll have to pay tax on the so called profits, given the time since those losses. | djwr100
03/11/2015 19:01 | Any one noticed how the directors of CW. bought a shed load of shares for around just 17p, then a few months later the company was taken over means the directors made a 100% profit on their purchases. | loganair
03/11/2015 17:02 | Most bids have a quiet period between first announcement and publication of details and that is where we are at the moment - little to comment on until we know more. Like loganair I am here from the C&W days having bought when everyone said a split would add value. CWC has done relatively well since then - it was CW. that went into meltdown followed by an opportunistic bid (it was around 90p just after the split and was taken out at 38p - CWC was around 60p immediately post split). | sharw
03/11/2015 15:41 | I'm still here from the original Cable and Wireless days, just after the share price collapse from £12 odd to just under £2. | loganair
03/11/2015 11:55 | I think that I must be the last 'small' shareholder still living. Have the rest died of boredom or old age? | djwr100
31/10/2015 20:14 | Can't see any thing in the weekend papers about the take over??? | loganair
28/10/2015 10:42 | Yes, I'm surprised it's so quiet here too. I find the news items difficult to understand. Clearly there is a lot of activity in both buying and shorting, often from the same firm. I can't quite see how one can do both and remain in profit. Then there are the cfds, too. Anyone care to explain the situation? Is this company mostly held by those interested, or are they mostly shorters? | djwr100
28/10/2015 10:24 | Considering there is a possible take over in the offering surprised to see no chatter at all and nothing more in the papers. | loganair
23/10/2015 19:53 | Other papers are also reporting 85p and in my good opinion unlike RSA and Zurich I think this one will go through. | loganair
23/10/2015 07:24 | Ft reporting talks @85p per share | xxx
23/10/2015 06:54 | Mail reporting offer of up to £3.7billion or around 78p a share. Will be happy with that! | nigelmoat
22/10/2015 19:28 | Yes - the RNS from CWC was 1 minute into the second 5 minute price monitoring extension when 8 million shares changed hands. So who are Liberty Global? They operate in 12 European countries including here where they are better known as Virgin Media, and in Chile and Puerto Rico. The last two are obviously seen as a fit for CWC. The market cap. of Liberty A shares is $40.7bn and CWC $3.85bn at today's close, so we are a small fish to swallow! See for more. There is a complicated share structure and the Chile/Puerto Rica operations are separated out as Lilac: "Liberty Latin America and Caribbean Group (“LiLAC Group”), which includes our operations in that region, are traded under the symbols ”LILA”, ”LILAB”, and “LILAK”. LILA and LILAK are traded on the NASDAQ Global Select Market and LILAB is traded on the OTC link". LILA is up 14% at the moment. | sharw
22/10/2015 18:30 | I see Blackrock and J P Morgan have CWC as a short. They will be none too happy. | edale
22/10/2015 17:42 | Merger confirmed - how "lucky" for those who brought millions just in time! | folderboy
22/10/2015 17:29 | I forgot to say they went through @ £0.70 so whats Friday mornings opening price tobe then ? | goodman
22/10/2015 17:19 | See the RNSs | edale
22/10/2015 17:14 | Whats going on, look at these trades at the close : 8,000,000 and a couple of 500,000 all buys !!! | goodman
30/9/2015 16:36 | At 31/3/15 CWC's net debt was $2.4bn and Digicel's $6.0bn of which less than a quarter will be paid off by the proceeds of the float - see: | sharw
30/9/2015 15:11 | But what about debt? How do they compare? Interest rates, capital outstanding? | djwr100
15/9/2015 15:19 | Is this heading back to 50p?... | diku
02/8/2015 14:07 | Looks like a small improvement, then. Thanks. | djwr100
02/8/2015 11:33 | I was just having a quick look back their 2020 loan notes are at an interest rate of 8.75% and the 2017 notes at 7.75%. | loganair |
