Please could somebody who knows mms explain why the quoted spread is 19-22 when the mms are actually trading at 19-20.20? What's the purpose of making the price look higher than it really is?

Volume is the key here - a rise on decent volume could indicate news on the way. Not huges volumes but better than the zero days we sometimes see.
