08/9/2021 11:19 | And I also liked his answer to the question I slipped in at the end on whether he saw the potential for byotrol to develop (or sell) an aerosol version of Actizone - "yes". | 1gw
08/9/2021 11:14 | No, football, that's not how I heard it (putting byotrol up for sale). He was saying that if you put your private equity hat on and look at how much money you could borrow to buy £1m/year of adjusted EBITDA in the byotrol space, you could probably borrow enough to cover the enterprise value - i.e. you could 100% debt-finance acquisition at the current enterprise value. Just a sense-check on the current share price I think - he clearly believes it undervalues the company. Other interesting points on an immediate reaction basis were: o Solvay has one other global customer for actizone, but selling without Solvay or Actizone branding; o Hycolin 24 is byotrol's own version of Actizone - i.e. they appear to see this as their key route to monetising their "ongoing right to sell Actizone technologies in finished product form" - so use the better-recognised hycolin brand rather than try to push the byotrol 4-in-1 brand? o A more positive update on seaweed ("Project Neptune") than I was expecting - now working through supply chain and starting to work on sales and marketing, although DT cautioned it was still likely to be a bit of a slow burn. On the whole I thought a good attempt to provide transparency and visibility where he could, but clearly he does not have an awful lot of visibility himself on this year's royalty/commission revenue or on 2H product sales. I particularly liked slide 7 giving some transparency on royalty, and slides 11 & 12 relating technologies to the different licence agreements. | 1gw

08/9/2021 07:15 | If the AGM is going to be this month and they have to give 21 days' notice (presuming the Articles are still current here), we must be due the Notice of AGM very soon. | 1gw
07/9/2021 16:56 | The company is just to small and overstretched to take advantage of it's IP. Simple as that. Deal drought Day 244. | loafofbread
07/9/2021 15:04 | Continued share price weakness it is then | brownson
07/9/2021 14:50 | My guess is that a lot of the small retail holders who bought in on the back of the Midas tip have already exited - given the decline in the share price from the post-Midas high and the lack of an effective communication campaign from the company aimed at keeping them engaged. On the other hand I suspect a lot of LTH's who were in pre-Midas have already topped up as much as they feel comfortable, without further clarity from the company. And there's not much to tempt in new investors ahead of the roadshow given the lack of convincing communication. So all set up for the roadshow now. A good performance, which gives the market confidence that the profit-warning was a one-off and there is a solid underpinning to the current guidance, could see the shareprice take off again (especially if it leads to further newspaper tips). On the other hand a weak performance which fails to provide sufficient confidence in FY22 guidance and FY23+ potential, could lead to continued shareprice weakness. Over to the company... | 1gw
07/9/2021 11:06 | It's an investor call, not an investor day. They won't be outlining any plans, but hopefully will be clarifying some important points from the recent results. | the ghost who walks

03/9/2021 20:14 | Don't forget that Mirius announced a deal with byotrol, complete with quote from David Traynor, on the 5th July. "July 5, 2021 Leading global hygiene manufacturer, Mirius, and infection prevention and control company, Byotrol® have joined forces…" ... "David Traynor, Byotrol plc’s Chief Executive, comments: “Mirius’ combination of expertise in antiviral manufacturing and sales reach made them an attractive target for a consumer launch. We are looking forward to developing our partnership further into other product areas and formats.”" I don't know why byotrol haven't announced this themselves, but perhaps we will find out in the roadshow presentations. It could be that if there were no material guaranteed minimum payments, it was not deemed material enough for an RNS. But even without guaranteed minimum payments, this could be quite a significant deal imo, getting one of byotrol's 24 hour surface mp formulations into a (hopefully well-funded) manufacturer's UK consumer launch with byotrol brand equity. We already have the Turtle Wax mp24 product out there in the UK, but very much targeted at the vehicle sector rather than general household cleaning and disinfection. Note also the reference in DT's quote to "other product areas and formats". The 19th August results release also suggests that byotrol have been active in business development on the seaweed front: "This project continues very encouragingly, with interest in the project now emerging from potential partners ranging across surface and skin sanitising, nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals" Given the small size of byotrol, progressing commercial discussions to launch of the new hycolin 24 product and (presumably) scoping work with potential partners in 3 (or 4) different areas for seaweed seems pretty reasonable to me. But I certainly hope byotrol will come out and flesh out some of this in the roadshow presentations. | 1gw

01/9/2021 08:55 | I got that tweet last night and couldn't stop laughing. It should really say 'the last mosque in the country' but this being Byotrol who haven't signed a new deal in 8 months it's the first! | loafofbread
01/9/2021 08:25 | Here in Spain, beach bar Covid cleans every table after each use. Surely an ideal marketing opportunity - oh I forgot Byotrol not really into marketing | johnmellor1 |
