The results are due in ONLY 2 weeks. Why sell before the results when you posted this ONLY last week, AFTER the Midas tip?

Don't you believe your own conviction or was is BS?

Heck of a day. Good old Midas/Mail on Sunday!

<...>

Doesn't really matter I suppose, just so long as business results and sentiment stay strong - and I would have thought the company is well-placed now to manage positive news flow through the next few months, with results, TUs, news on byotrol24 getting going in the US (if not South America) and hopefully further licence deals.

It's a target cap, sikhthetech, not a hard and fast rule. I'm happy to go over the cap for periods of time (and usually have 2 or 3 shares over the cap at any one time) but longer term I aim to bring weights back into line. But also, it's basic maths: if I sell some the weight goes down; if the price falls the weight goes down; if other shares in the portfolio rise the weight goes down.

And psychology plays a part as well. If I have been at say 30% portfolio weight in the past on a share and have sold some then I find it easier to justify to myself buying back up to that level if the price falls and/or I think the newsflow significantly improves the risk.

Your portfolio weight argument is just more BS from you..

You were clearly over your 10% preferred weighting when the share price went to 6p...

Yet in your reply to graham you state:

"But I added to my position materially between April and early August"

Didn't your portfolio weighting matter to you when you were materially adding?

lol

You also state that you stopped posting here because of me... which again is BS from you... you and your mates pumping this over the past few weeks is clear evidence of that.

But the good news is I now have plenty of ammunition to buy back if I feel the price fall has been overdone relative to the newsflow, notwithstanding the portfolio weight counter-argument. As indeed I did between April and early August when I bought back all that I had previously sold and more.

I sold some because of the portfolio weight argument, sikhthetech, which I've tried to explain to you before but you either can't, or choose not to, understand it.

Not at all grahamwales. Fair disclosure given in the post below following the Midas tip. I've stopped giving blow-by-blow disclosure of buying/selling activity here since sikhthetech's reaction to those disclosures was not helping the discussion.

But I added to my position materially between April and early August, buying back shares I had sold earlier and buying more, taking my holding to the highest it had been in terms of number of shares held. With the post-Midas tip rise the byotrol holding at one point got to around 50% of my portfolio in value terms, compared to a notional target cap I have of 10% for any one share. While I hope it rises further over the coming months as the company and broker disclose results, forecasts and further deals, I felt it was sensible to take some profit following the tip and the big price rise.

Byotrol remains by far my largest holding, still over 40% of my portfolio, from which you might deduce that I am still confident in its future (otherwise I would have reduced faster) but I may still be looking to reduce further (given how far over my target max weight it is), especially into further strength.

Heck of a day. Good old Midas/Mail on Sunday!

I'll admit to being surprised to see such a strong and sustained rise on the back of a newspaper tip, when compared with the rise on the back of the 3rd August TU.

Looks like profit-taking outweighing new money at the moment. Can't complain, I've been taking some myself.

Couple of big sells, 72K and 75Kshares, have rattled the share price this morning but latter now seems stable at 9.15-9.20p and consolidating in that range. But DYOR.
