This is perhaps the most telling chart aligned pre-Covid. Largo has recovered and now accelerated due to the #VRFB revolution.#BMN has not even recovered pre-Covid.https://twitter.com/bmnperspective/status/1337694429130469379?s=21Perfect timing for entry IMO as the catch up accelerates.

I agree JC on the BE comments.I don't see what the big failure would be to just concentrate on mining and provide shareholder return. Earnings 50 mill a year for 2021 at current prices from the V. Essentially with just the V this would be trading at a mere 3x pe against an industry average of 12.The quickest way back to 48p is sacking fortune and the BE's and then just concentrate on being a world class producer.

I don't think there's been much deviation in the share price performance of both LGO and BMNLGO's ascension to record highs and sell off has been pretty much like for like. If we are to compare to Largo then 15p-18p is reasonable imo. However, LGO isn't exposed to BREXIT risk, with not reporting in sterling or with an LSE listing.

Coldspring,

I don't think that what was stated was unreasonable. There is clearly a difference between the perceived value of Largo and Bushveld currently. There could be many reasons why from something as simple as a large holder deciding to liquidate to confusion over the offering with geopolitical and financial situations added to the pot.

I don't believe the mere presence of BE is to blame (as suggested above) as the Largo equivalent has added significant value (yes, it is a clearer message).

Personally I don't, and never have, attributed value to BE. I won't until they demonstrate the sales model (I don't actually care if we provide the electrolyte). Once this is done I can more accurately assess whether there is long term value.

BMN doesn't need BE to be successful if other VRFB companies are. Their success (success in the sector tends to lift others as well) and the pressure on the Vanadium price will lift BMN as well.

GLOBAL VANADIUM BATTERY MARKET POISED FOR EXPANSIONThe global market for vanadium redox batteries in 2020 is estimated at around $234m, with 30% of that market being buyers in the US. Demands for large scale energy storage alone – including storing energy from clean power sources like wind power and solar – is estimated to grow at 52% CAGR over a period to 2027.China is expected to constitute a major market for vanadium batteries – estimates put its growth at GAGR 51.4% through 2027. There is also likely to be a considerable increase in demand for the batteries for emergency power supply purposes. The need for the batteries was demonstrated in California this year, when wild fires took out large segments of California's power grid. Again, markets like the US, and Japan, where natural disasters regularly disrupt power supplies, will be considerable.https://www.thearmchairtrader.com/bushveld-minerals-share-price-2/

Whilst the LSE bb is more informative the folks there are emotionally involved and its always good to be able to be critical. Largo quickly recovered to pre-covid levels from which it has gained another 50%. BMN tanked and has stayed down.

I'd say juristiction is slightly better in Brazil and Largo has lower costs and no debt.ZAR has recently strengthened where as the Brazilian Real is weakening.

Largo's clean energy launch was presented well and is straight forward. BE's stratigy is not as simply and needs to deliver. I'm not putting too much faith in the Eskom tender and think it may be prudent to have low expectations. A rise will come with the V price heading North in 2021 as China are now importing and liquidating inventory built in 2018 at a rate of 10,000mtv per year.

When will the E plant be built! And Doesn't Vanchem also need to start producing V203 to feed it?

What a coincidence,
I'm reading about corruption at Eskom at the moment.

I dont think it looks good for the Eskom vrfb tenders being awarded anytime soon, as a result of the consequential court case that concluded yesterday.

If you read what Eskom CEO DeRuyter says, “ A new process of checks and balances and a review of contractors and contracts“.

Although BMN are not an approved contractor yet, I think all tenders in the system now, will have the new “checks and balances“ applied and as a result I can see a delay

JOHANNESBURG - The Special Investigation Unit has announced that R1.5 billion will be paid back to Eskom following the awarding of an irregular contract to Swedish-Swiss company ABB.

The initially R2.2 billion contract was awarded in 2015 to provide the power utility with controls and instrumental work for the Kusile power station.

The SIU said that the investigation into ABB came after the company's voluntary disclosure of alleged collusion with some Eskom employees.

SIU head Advocate Andy Mothibi: we have been working with Hawks, the FBI and the US dept of Justice, due to the seriousness of this multi national investigation. Having reached the stage where ABB made the findings on their part, and on our side, the investigations were also pointing to irregularity, ABB then approached the SIU team with an offer of settlement.
Eskoms CEO Andre DeRuyter: said, He is very pleased with the outcome of the investigation. So far we have parted ways with 30 senior executives, managers and hundreds of other employees.
We will be pursuing civil and criminal proceedings against all involved, to act as a deterrent and as a matter of principle.

In order to re-establish a culture of accountability, we will be implementing new processes of checks and balances. A review will be carried out of the suitability of all approved contractors and any contracts issued.

Advocate Mothibi said: Due to legal risks, names of officials implicated will not be released, the criminal investigation is on going, be assured if you have been involved in malfeasance come forward, or we will catch you and anyone else involved.

Check Eskom news release on twitter, it gives a brief summary of the court case
As a side note, surprise, surprise, the Gupta family are heavily involved in this Eskom corruption.

So many have been scratching their heads lately as to why Largo has been on an upward trajectory of late whilst BMN have only managed a limp rise (sound familiar) despite rising vanadium prices. There can only be one plausible explanation which none of the geniuses on LSE have picked up on....bushveld energy. Clearly the more judicious investors are atttibuting negative value to this pipe dream

Eskom. When they finally do sort it out (and I believe that it is critical that they do) they should write a book about its history. I am sure that it would make for pretty interesting reading about corruption an incompetence in a public utility.

Mo: Really, what is wrong with you? I’ve been invested in this company for 4 years and for 4 years you have attacked everyone on a personal level that doesn’t agree with your views and opinions. It’s just an investment and these are public bulletin boards to express and share opinions. I really can’t understand why you want to stop and deter people from expressing their thoughts on their investment? Why can’t you accept I see things differently from you? My views aren’t going to change anything are they?

As it almost Xmas and in the spirit of the season maybe we could agree to disagree and refrain from engaging directly with each other? Just a thought.

Australian PV plant tests 2 MW/8 MWh vanadium flow batteryInvinity CEO Larry Zulch said it is the company's largest project to date. He highlighted the growing interest in the technology."It is clear that momentum is building," Zulch said. "We are now consistently seeing vanadium flow batteries recognized as a robust, reliable and proven way of making renewable energy truly dispatchable at grid scale. We're engaging with a great deal of activity in the U.K., North America and now Australia."hTTps://www.pv-magazine.com/2020/12/11/australian-pv-plant-tests-2-mw-8-mwh-vanadium-flow-battery/

How can taking statements directly from an RNS and quotes from Fortune’s answers be painting anything but facts. You have the direct repair costs, lost production and increased production costs as a result.

Who said you accused anyone of a mentioning a flooded mine shaft? It was Jimbo on LSE.

You seem hell bent on twisting posts, but I suggest you read them properly before replying or apologies if you have made a genuine mistake. It’s not hard to do.

www.ferroalloynet.com: This week, the prices of vanadium products are firm and stable. Although the retail investors of V2O5 flake and alloy manufacturers intend to raise their prices, the actual transaction price is more stable than that of last week, but the overall adjustment is not large, and the transaction with high price is less
