Exactly my statement. Providing they’re not lying why would they drive a change to fair value (that’s how I read it) if it’s not going to be a positive outcome.

The results need to be finalised by 30 April, or bondholders can request results. Then, if not produced within 60 days of request it is an event of default. But is that really a risk?

Not sure it was the trading update itself, but potential delays in producing results relating to their new (and so far unapproved fair value methodology) which could have some serious knock on effects. ie they could breach the covenants on their bonds.

Bizarre that it is marked down but in auction with the trades showing entirely buys.
As volume swings to the US market I think that is the one to watch.
Supremely confident here. As long as they aren't telling lies (which Im sure they aren't) then it is a bargain.

Sounds like a lot of jam tomorrow as the court system catches up and the huge investment in cases starts to pay off, sounds like hitting a bunch of home runs already this year and ypf can drop any time

Having abandoned hope of the release, I watched the Liverpool game and went to bed. Have woken to the news.. quick read and one word comes to mind… “uncorrelated”.

Hopefully BUR will now break out of the finance industry downward trajectory that we’ve seen recently.

Looking forward to the second call later. I think the valuation methodology is crucial - so glad the analysts went there - and the underwriting of the Molot valuation model, if that is what happens, is going to be a game changer for confidence in the expected growth rate of this business.

The UK analysts were a disgrace and quite embarrassing - every single question was about the change in accounting methodology. No interest at all in the big pick up in cases which is ultimately all that really matters. The sooner they get rid of the UK listing the better and hopefully get some decent US analysts on board who can actually understand the business.

Absolutely phenomenal update! Brilliant! So many wonderful case wins,Burford head and shoulders above the rest of the legal finance industry.(disclaimer,I own much closer to seven figures than six.)Where to begin,in one case last year ,in the global antitrust portfolio,$52 million of realised gains for Burford only in a'partial realisation' of a case on the books for barely a year! $90 million in a case this year to Burford on a group wide basis,another $100 million subject to appeals,$ 50 and $ 60 million plus cases coming in,this is the Burford effect,the flywheel effect. Absolutely brilliant! What an update!
