20/1/2022 08:35 | It's getting cheaper. Might take a few more at these prices ;-) | loglorry1
20/1/2022 06:38 | Tt is right, there are lots of people who just play momentum and if you can do so well good luck to you. BUR is stuck in a range between 7-8 and has great liquidity for traders. So I am surprised that 2 institutions have managed to build big stakes. The crux here is, as it has been for ages, that the way figures are reported makes it possible for the naysayers to find something to quibble about. We just have to wait for news on Peterson or for the results to be so unambiguously great that there's no room for the doubters. Will it be the next set of results? No idea, but I feel it's going to be this year. | donald pond
19/1/2022 23:30 | I knew that would be misinterpreted - I mean purely that the IC, MW etc will SEE the share price as validating their flimsy assertions - which is annoying, because not much else does ...but it feeds on itself, and as we can see, sentiment is enough to vary the price from £20 to £6, fundamentals 'be damned'. Oh well. Petersen will sort it!??? | time_traveller
19/1/2022 23:10 | Oh come on TT "the share price validates the many detractors". So everyone who liked the shares during the rise was a genius for a while, and everyone who disliked the shares while they fell was also a genius for a while. Adds no value whatsoever. Hovering over the filter button. | tradertrev
19/1/2022 21:13 | But what is fuelling the fall? US closed at an embarrassing $9.62 (by embarrassing, I mean for any fund manager who has stuck with BUR while all else rises, and one hopes, for the company, who launched on the NYSE at $11.20 was it? This share price validates burford's many detractors). I guess that other institutional investor's patience for a share price exit from MW "damaged goods" territory is becoming exhausted, so I would expect RNSs for reductions through thresholds? | time_traveller
19/1/2022 20:40 | Very good news. I wonder if Invesco had a rump holding to shift? Anyway, it's in stickier hands now | donald pond
19/1/2022 20:23 | Nice to see another big investment, It was Ameriprise last month, adding to their existing investment. This is re-assuring. My thinking now is that these organisations that invest substantial sums must have done their research. I feel I’m in a very comfortable position, I shall enjoy the rewards as the share price grows | three black crows
19/1/2022 19:46 | Another 5% holding taken from scratch, this time it is CI Financial Corp (Canada's largest asset management, by AUM). | lomax99
19/1/2022 07:59 | From SebaToday a private hearing was held (no I was invited ? ) between the lawyers of Burford Capital, YPF and Argentina with Judge Preska for the case of expropriation of the oil company. - On 1/27 there will be a new hearing. - Waiting for news. | donald pond
18/1/2022 11:17 | Lack of stamp duty turns it into a trading share though. Would rather they move to the main market. | riverman77
17/1/2022 23:06 | Nope - spreads are pretty good and no stamp duty on AIM With the US listing don't see what the point of moving of AIM would be | williamcooper104
17/1/2022 23:00 | 30 plus IRRs are gross returns Management are the GP and we are the LPs | williamcooper104
17/1/2022 22:52 | The big PE houses are all now alternative asset managers; some of them do more infra/real estate than classic PE The attraction for them is the 30 plus performance fees | williamcooper104
17/1/2022 08:36 | Discovery hearing tomorrow and next week https://twitter.com/ | donald pond
14/1/2022 18:18 | Time - I'm thinking of getting back in now, think the news flow will start improving. It's always darkest before dawn | hatfullofsky
14/1/2022 15:43 | That's ok then. £90,000 down on BUR and three years of patience, but just so long as they have a lock on litfin. (They don't of course, though they do have a dominant positioning, which is why I'm invested ... still; I'm just starting to wonder if the shareholders will ever see the benefits of that)! | time_traveller
14/1/2022 13:14 | Nope, but maintaining a lock on the global litigation finance market is more important . | divmad
14/1/2022 11:58 | Well said time traveller, PR isn't their strongest attribute | rar100
13/1/2022 16:14 | Ah ... unintentional euphemism edited out! | time_traveller
13/1/2022 16:07 | That comment and that name :-) | al101uk
13/1/2022 15:01 | Sorry yes NYSE | loglorry1
13/1/2022 14:43 | NYSE listed, actually. | divmad
13/1/2022 13:22 | Not really. They have a US NASDAQ listing anyway. A full london listing is more admin and more costs. | loglorry1
13/1/2022 13:20 | ASOS have today announced a move from AIM to the main market. Would Burford not benefit from doing the same? | nigelmoat |
