We have transferred shares of Burford Capital internally to another group entity i.e. Mithaq Capital SPC. We have not sold/transferred any share of Burford Capital to an external third party.

We spend a lot of time discussing valuation on this thread. I don't think we need to worry too much about this being an overvalued share...
Just been looking around various stocks to update myself on a few things and alighted upon an old favourite - I give you ITM Power where for a mkt cap of £2.7bn you get....
£3m of revenue and £30m pre-tax LOSS!

We've all seen Bur pop in the morning and then fade away in the afternoon Interesting article on this trend generally in markets https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/02/your-money/stock-market-after-hours-trading.html

The reference to Burford as a "vulture fund" confirmed to me the article's bias.

Https://www.ambito.com/negocios/ypf/grupo-petersen-aclara-que-no-tiene-relacion-el-juicio-n5157816The company explained that it has no relation to the lawsuit that is being carried out in New York for the expropriation of YPF.Faced with versions that indicate that the Petersen Group was required in the trial that is being carried out for the expropriation of YPF in New York, the company came out to clarify that "it is totally unrelated to any lawsuit" and that "it did not receive any summons or summons to give a statement by the North American justice "."The Petersen Group is totally oblivious to any lawsuit against YPF and / or the National State in Argentina or abroad. It expressly waived that right to litigate against the Argentine State. It did not initiate the lawsuit nor did it sell the rights to the Burford fund, with which the Petersen Group has no relationship, commercial or otherwise, "he quoted in a statement. The company's response comes after publications that reported that they did not attend a summons before Judge Loretta Preska of the second circuit of New York. The group denied such summons and warned that they are "at the disposal of the Justice to provide all the information that is required in any judicial case."They recalled that the lawsuit against Argentina is driven by the Burford fund, to which the Spanish justice sold the rights to litigate against the country in the framework of the Petersen Energía and Petersen Energía Inversora insolvency proceedings initiated after the expropriation of YPF. "At the time the lawsuit began, these two companies no longer had a relationship with the Petersen Group," they complete."It was the Spanish justice that administers the Petersen bankruptcy process that auctioned those rights to litigate, which were acquired by Burford (the same fund that won the lawsuit against Argentina for the expropriation of Aerolineas)", they close.

The Hon Judge Preska has made a number of orders. In one,it seems both sides have agreed a new scheduling order for both fact and expert discovery, basically just pushing everything back by 90 days.In the second, which I don't understand,I presume it's comprehending the arguments that were put forward at today's conference. As I say,I don't really understand it.Perhaps someone with some legal insights could explain what it's about.Sebastian Maril might be the one to throw some light on the matter.

Now that we're NYSE listed there appears to be a reasonably liquid options market - (haven't tested that yet though) Wondering if worth replacing my exposure with call options - thereby can free up capital to get a higher near term return, get the ability to buy back in if share price tanks on a bad Peterson outcome and only give up some upside if we get a home run Other than Peterson our news flow is only likely to be around results Interesting that we are again down in London and up in New York

Don't know why my posts aren't showing up... I guess we'll find out if Hansen's request for it to be bilateral is taken on board when she makes an order... she seemed very serious on the call and it wasn't pleasant listening.

As a minimum it should be a bi-lateral requirement. Is Preska being serious here?

Pretty bruising conference from a Burford perspective in the Petersen matter today.Basically,Judge Preska seems to want to get discovery of the Eskenasi's documents and depositions.Mark Hansen was saying it's within the Argentinian state's power to get the discovery while the defendants are saying you ( Burford) bought the claim so you should have seen to it that the Eskenasi's would be made available.Counsel for Burford saying they have no power over them, that they ( the Eskenasis) are so far down the pecking order of creditors that it doesn't matter, etc.Judge Preska making some worrying warnings ,eg,'you pays your money ,you takes your chances' and 'get it done,or they'll be consequences, but I'm not sure what they'll be',or words to that effect.Sounded ominous to me.Mr.Hansen asked that both sides be tasked with using their influence.According to him,Burford have no influence, Argentina are the ones with the power to get the discovery done.
