Shark - so he could show what a great engineer he was by bringing in massive cost savings (all about his CV)

Just rung up and told them it's easy enough to accept the bid with other brokers (no trouble accepting my Selftrade or Charles Stanley stock) and the Crest details are freely available. The Customer Services guy was uninterested and just reiterated the "waiting for Crest" line and said there was nothing he could do. Good grief!

RichGold this is the way I see it too, what would have prompted him to do that?

Cheers on that, just got off the phone to them and their corporate actions will be updated by 20-00 tonight, went to Norton Gold Fields and quoted their recent release.

Sadly have just instructed broker to accept offer. Twice shafted by the chinese and feel that we had enough support here for a competent board to get us through this period.

I guess the main problem was that there wasn't enough subscribers to the 3.5p placement so we were always vulnerable.

sweepie2 - my broker tried to say the bid was closed so I quoted today's RNS number and pointed out that it quoted: "The Increased Offer is scheduled to close at 5.00pm AWST / 10.00am BST on Wednesday 16 July 2014" which done the trick.

Thanks to all the great posters and good luck to all.

Is it not possible to buy under the offer price at the moment? Isn't that free money?

Can anyone guess what will happen to your stock if you don't accept?

Or, now the directors recommend accepting the offer with Norton get enough to take it unconditional, and therefore by default you will have to accept?

I can tell you I received a detailed email from my brokers yesterday setting out the position and asking me if I wished to accept the 0.08AUD.

TD will have to hurry as only a few days left to accept. Sad end for the enterprise. I agree with Stuart, AIM is to be avoided and the same applies to small cap exchanges elsewhere. Corporate governance is missing and with it investor protection
Good luck all.

Also been speaking to TD they said that bid closed on 11/6/14 and that I can't accept bid, any suggestions?

I've been speaking to TD as well. I could give an accept on the Aussie listed stock but they say they're waiting for Crest so I can't accept on the UK listed stock at present.

I bought more yesterday and accepted the offer for the entire holding. As everyone is dishing out a tip to recoup lost BGL money, mine are CHG and IFL!

Carl, well I have commented here in the past that the Australians generally seem to have lost the plot. It is not so long ago that the price of Gold was $1000 an oz, yet their supply side costs are so high, amongst the highest in the World, that there seems to be no interest in open cast gold mining at $1300 an oz. THR is another example of company with assets and no plan to mine it.

Ludicrous!

But there are no prizes for being a minority shareholder so it is time for me to instruct my brokers to accept the offer.

Well, after 8 years I'm finally selling up and buying more of my other goldie Condor Gold (CNR). The Chairman & CEO Mark Child has got a lot of skin in the game and his record has been exemplary over the past 6 years.

Sweepie- i'd like to know that.

I'm on the phone to TDW now to try to accept the 8c on my holding with them, however I also hold a lot with iii and am tempted to let them run. I don't need the CGT loss on them really!!

Problem is, with Norton in control they could literally take the share price down to almost nothing and then buy it.

Other than DGO i've not seen a share yet with a majority shareholder that has given to sh*its about the minority shareholders

I've just put in a Limit Sell with SIPPDEAL at 4.5p
Norton's Offer at current exchange rate is 4.37p ?

The management were incompetent in allowing this to happen. Weakened the share price, allowed sentiment to completely erode and it seems lost the trust of their large II. My disappointment is extreme.
