22/11/2018 07:43 | Great timing for holders. Note that J&J have lost the Zytinga battle against generics. | waterloo01
21/11/2018 22:09 | Spyder, cannot access it any gems in the article. | bargainbob
21/11/2018 18:34 | Thanks fh, do you know how long an alternative bidder has to declare an interest, is there a timeline under the Takeover Code? I can’t find the Woodford announcement on an rns? Very interesting article in the Times - did anyone else see it? | spyder
21/11/2018 15:55 | Spyder, read his RNS from earlier today.I'm not clear if he was included in the irrevocable list.If a second offer comes in at a significantly higher price which the board see worth putting to shareholders, all previous commitments are void. The agreement in place may give Boston a right to counter offer and a bidding war begins. There may be substantial cancellation fees payable to Boston, hence any new offer needing to be significantly. It shouldn't be long before we hear rumours or somebody let's the market know that they are in play, then the fun starts.Meantime I have sold a small lot to treat the family for Christmas...thank you Louise! | fhmktg
21/11/2018 14:06 | —>fh What makes you think that Woodford has cashed in? I’m not sure how he can if he has given an irrevocable undertaking to support the deal? Speaking of which, does anyone know how the irrevocables sit if a higher offer were to come along? Can they elect to receive the higher offer? OR - can Boston buy the shares, sit on 30%+ and prevent a higher bidder gaining sufficient shares to close a deal? | spyder
21/11/2018 10:44 | Woodford cashed in around 66% of his stake....keep the faith for a couple of weeks to see if any bidders come out of the woods.I would bet the hedge funds are going through their spread sheets to like up their break up valuations. | fhmktg
21/11/2018 10:43 | yeah you wil have two tax years to offload if needed . | cannyshoveyergrannyoffthebus
21/11/2018 09:55 | Agreed Spyder. I'm still holding for now. | gregsc
21/11/2018 08:27 | Without stating the bleedin’ obvious, I would very much welcome an alternative offer. The following would be on my wish list: 1) Higher offer - obvs!! 2) UK buyer - keep the technology in UK ownership. 3) A shares alternative to cash - keeps CGT away from HMRC 4) A dividend payer - it would be nice to finally see a steady income from the investment. If anyone out there is watching, please help ... :-) | spyder
21/11/2018 07:45 | It's possible £8.40 not a knock out bid , only possible due to bad management over the last few years. There still a few gems in there. I would be surprised if no counter offer, at the same time good to take the money of the table for a risky share in a risky market.lets see what unfolds . | bargainbob
21/11/2018 07:34 | Dont hold your breath for a counter bid. Very doubtful. | rrb
21/11/2018 07:33 | From IC However, as part of the takeover, Boston will win access to BTG’s portfolio of interventional oncology drugs, significantly expanding its own capabilities in this field. As for the pharmaceutical division, which remains highly cash generative, Boston may choose to offload it. Either way, broker Numis says it does not believe the 840p offer adequately values either the interventional medicine division or the $660m-worth of research and development (R&D) undertaken over the last six years. Analysts there also believe there’s scope for competing bids, picking £11 per share as a "justifiable target". That said, a coup would have to start at a minimum of 925p, given the level of irrevocable undertakings. | bargainbob
20/11/2018 19:24 | Numis , rival bid would need to start at £9.25 with a bidding war up to £11 possible. One broker saying good value for holders at £8.40 giving the risk. | bargainbob
20/11/2018 14:45 | Would not rule out a counter bid here . | cannyshoveyergrannyoffthebus
20/11/2018 14:17 | Vectura looks like they may be next take over candidate - share price already reflects multiple discounts for litigations and advair delay so if Vectura already lost litigations and Advair many times. Make your own research ! | a1ord53
20/11/2018 13:39 | Hi solonic - that is over generous of you in that I have committed my fair share of gaffes. I have always preferred to invest rather than trade. I originally bought BTG for £1 and sold for a decent multiple - no complaints. Like jurgen I have had a look in at BTG from time to time. Where is bargain bob today?; he has been in this stock for many years. | donk4
20/11/2018 13:19 | I remember you donk. You were a very nice poster and very shrewd. I expect you did make a fair amount anyway. In those days BTG was one of those shares for people like you and me who were not day traders by any means but would buy and sell on those almost secular changes that used to happen mainly because of Varithena or whatever it was called then. | solonic
20/11/2018 12:43 | It's almost the same story for me chucko1. I already had a lot of BTG but I also took the opportunity to buy more when the thick shorters began to nibble, and the shareprophets started their doom and gloom propaganda. They didn't do their homework properly either. | trollwatch |
