It's almost the same story for me chucko1. I already had a lot of BTG but I also took the opportunity to buy more when the thick shorters began to nibble, and the shareprophets started their doom and gloom propaganda. They didn't do their homework properly either.

Market price below bid price seems to suggest a higher bidder wont appear unlike Sky ? A small amount of upside left to 840p but a delay of 7 - 9 months. Is there a reasoned debate on whether to sell now or hold on for 840p. Part of the debate with me is where to put the cash if selling now ?

Boston Scientific have irrevocable undertaking for only 33% of the stock.
It is possible for another bid, however I am happy with a 334% gain.

Yes, well done to all who have held on!
I suppose a counter bid would be too much to expect.......

Thanks guys for your comments. Don't get me wrong, I am happy for holders here, you have to do what's best for you and your families. I was actually thinking of buying back into BTG. Too slow Minerve! Nevermind. It is warming that some also share the bigger picture and I'm not alone on this.

I agree Minerve probably Brexit was the tipping point, again another solid British company gets bought before it reaches its full potential! I was a long term holder af axis-shield before it was a subject of a hostile American bid just as it was getting its act together.

Well Done Cyman and those who've believed for many years that BTG would eventually deliver significant value. From 150p in May 2010 to £8.40 is pretty decent return :) Good luck all.

I agree, I have mixed feelings about this, but given the vitriol that Louise has had to put up with on occasion, who can blame her for wanting to move on.
Where are the bears today?

I don't want to get too political here but if Brexit wasn't happening this would not have happened.

Short term gain, long term loss!

Morons will not care though because Christmas has come early. Morons are too short sighted and don't consider the bigger picture.

Never had a company I had shares in bought out for cash before, any idea how long it might take to go through? I'm maxed out on my CGT for this year so six months or longer would be handy.

Shame, another solid UK company gets gobbled up by a US monster. Well done to long term holders and lovely to see those hedge fund shorters get a kicking again.

I think that news in October were better than on 13 th of November and share price moved down. And last week and on 13 th share price were like always manipulated. Its why it going back to reality 5-6 £ range.
RBC again issued underperform with target price 490 p
Varithena value negative
CroFab is going to loose 70% revenues due to price reduction
Zytiga will halved income
Beads no growth anymore according dame Louise( she said growth with market)
Who sold at 690-670!should feel very lucky
I read transcript of meeting with analysts and answers of dame and cfo were not precise - more likely than concrete.

Is the volatility down to shorters having to close positions?Same seems to have happened to BP.Should become clearer over the next few days.Frustrating.

That's almost half the gain from the interims given up to traders, what a sad reflection on our market system.
