True ,

I remember we had cutting edge electronic storage and internet patents but ditched it all to get into high tech Pharma. Hmmm was that a smart move in hindsight.

cyman thx for the heads up on charts
the 'x' and 'v' are signals from the directional movement indicator ADX/-ve and +ve DMI. I omit the ADX line for clarity. Sadly you can't turn these particular signals off on the advfn chart studies. I figure they're supposed to be buy and sell signals but they're pretty useless and i ignore them.

The directional movement indicator is the second one down below the MACD.

seems to be holding a move north at present.

If we're witnessing a downtrend wedge here (trendline support in green and downtrend resistance in blue) then a break of the blue line could be quite significant and give a strong move upwards

Thanks for sharing woody. You know I like your charts. Though not a chartist myself they do occasionally help to put things into perspective especially on a day like today when I was getting fed up waiting and thinking of putting my money elsewhere. Keeping the faith for a while longer yet

GREATER BRITAIN UK could be the ‘fastest growing G7 economy until 2050’

Their is an article in the FT today which has been partly shared in another paper. It makes for an interesting read. I do not subscribe to the FT so the abridged version is as follows and very well done PWC.

This will stuff the Remainers/Remoaners right up the 'Gonga Pooch'

GREATER BRITAIN UK could be the ‘fastest growing G7 economy until 2050’ as US bank
urges customers to invest in pound

Brexit will not hold back the UK and the economy will put on an average of almost two per cent a year

BRITAIN could be the fastest growing economy among the world’s leading G7 nations until at least 2050, say experts.

Brexit will not hold back the UK and the economy will put on an average of almost two per cent a year between now and then.

2050

It comes as a top US bank urges customers to invest in the Pound which could become
“the Swiss Franc on steroids”.

The long-term economic view is made by accountants PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Its experts reckon the UK may be held back slightly post-Brexit but the effect will be short-lived.

They predict Britain will power ahead after 2020 leaving Germany, France and Italy
trailing, partly because the country has a relatively larger population of working age.

‘DON’T OBSTRUCT THE PEOPLE’ Theresa May warns Tory rebels not to join forces with
anti-Brexit MPs to alter Article 50 bill

But it will only happen if MPs strike trade and investment deals with faster-growing economies in Asia to make up for expected weaker trade links with the EU after the split.

John Hawksworth, of PwC, said: “By looking beyond unpredictable short-term economic and political cycles and focusing on fundamentals, long-term growth projections can
actually be more reliable.”

China will be the world’s biggest economy by 2050, with India having overtaken the US to go second biggest economy.

The only other country in Europe with a bigger economy than the UK will be Germany.

The figures come as Bank of America urges investors to buy the Pound.

It has told its clients that all the fears associated with Brexit are “priced in” and predicts that the Pound, which currently buys $1.24, could spiral to $1.40.
