Should read...'BT Group has been prevented from grasping the fibre nettle'....grrr Who in their right mind is going to use their own money to fund another company’s business?? 24/11/2017 11:21 | This is the lifetime saving on each pension average 25 years, calculated by the Prudential not sure how they arrive at this figure . Seems rather large to me a £90.4 billion saving over 25 years a £3.6 billion per year saving of course most of this will not filter down to share holders but stay in the pension fund. | wskill
24/11/2017 11:05 | wskill..are you saying that a switch from rpi to cpi saves £113,000 per BT pensioner or are there other measures to arrive at that figure. If a relatively small change saves that much then the remaining liability must be massive. | stewart64
24/11/2017 10:49 | Question would be has the switch to CPI already been priced in to the SP? We should find out in December as the Court Hearing is likely to take place week commencing 04 December 2017. If the Judge rules in favour it will be bad news for those pensioners on the affected scheme! | toon1966
24/11/2017 10:22 | A small improvement in the pension calculation will make todays share price look like a gift there is around 800,000 pension members affected with an average saving according to Prudental of £113,000 to BT and a member of the pension fund has been selected to represent fund members see below courts are more minded to rule in favour of the proposed change after recent goverment advice. .A BT spokesman confirmed that the proposed switch to CPI was part of a broader review. A member of the scheme, who is also a BT director, has been appointed to represent staff in court, and BT has appointed and paid for a lawyer to represent savers. | wskill

Ofcom then wonder why telecoms dragging their heels on broadband speeds etc, when they keep trying to reduce telecoms revenue it seems. My forecast is 235p short term, 195p 2018 if things don't change. | montyhedge
