25/8/2017 11:44 | Why do BT buy football? As far as I can see most installations, apart from Virgin, use BT lines anyway. Why do BT pay £1 billion for football, then upset all their customers by charging everyone for it whether they watch it or not? | willoicc
25/8/2017 11:41 | The more relevant info from Carphone was their forecast drop in revenue from EU roaming charges, wasn't it? Assume BT lower as it has similar exposure with EE (and similar expected drop in revenue for roaming). | maestro2
25/8/2017 11:17 | What Carphone were particularly flagging was actually that consumers are tending to hold on to their phones longer rather than renewing / upgrading. Bad news for the stores, but not necessarily for the network operators. In fact though I just upgraded the wife's phone yesterday (CPW / EE) got a higher data allowance at a lower monthly cost & if I had traded in the old phone, I would actually have got £50 net cash. | kazoom
25/8/2017 10:42 | Going by Carphone Warehouse figures yesterday, mobile phones have we met saturation point. All I can see is problems for BT, pensions, Ofcom etc, where is the ray of light going to come from. I think BT may drift lower. Still my target is 275p. Metalguru I hope I'm wrong and your position works. | montyhedge

24/8/2017 13:17 | All this 'quad-play' nonsense - has it helped BT........NO | dmf

24/8/2017 06:56 | Good morning men, and you mutley180°, My sincere apologies for putting a dampener on this fairy-tail thread, I hadn’t realised just how fragile some of the fantasy protagonists have become! In future please ignore my speculative diatribe, and continue to provide we private investors with seconds, nay minutes, of genuine tales of trading activity, so we too can strive to emulate this kind of financial confidence, and not as I would have you believe, that these postings are merely broker agenda sponsered stooges, levelled purely to encourage naive and vulnerable individuals into chancing their arm (and leg) with a CFD or spread betting broker! | colonelgrim
22/8/2017 22:17 | I don't know how old you are, but if you anywhere near 50, My Advise MG buddy, if as you say you have that sort of money, is to keep it in the bank and enjoy spending it on some good times..... | kulvinder
22/8/2017 15:07 | Isn't it about time for Deutsche Bank to come out with their sell recommendation and 265p target again?? It's been nearly 2 weeks since the last! and what about Deutsche Telekom, do you think they've been selling now that they can? Apparently they can't increase their stake beyond 15% until 2019 or is the idea of BT being taken over a non-starter? | metalsguru
22/8/2017 12:46 | Cable now £30/pt, added at £1.28262 average 1.29376 down £3430 Bt underperforming FTSE again I see. | metalsguru
22/8/2017 11:14 | Just closed USD/JPY at 109.299 (for a profit, never a loss!) but still stuck in Cable. | metalsguru |
