Would a bid be allowed?, I don't think so and the current share price arguably indicates
the same. But none of us know the exact future.

French man is getting hot under the collar. Something might happen due to Sterling weakness. May be he will sale his stake to bidder with big pockets.

I will get back in at a quid, expect drahi’ funding to be pulled, banks don’t want M&A now. Plus U.K. economy circling the U bend anyway, rates going up will crush it and people unable to pay utility bills. Come back Tony Blair, brexit, bunter and now this shower of shxt. Terminal.

I think book was inferring, it would be better if it was cut away and had its own listing on the exchange??

dikumany contractions/ expansions are caused by fed over or under doing it, late or not the day they raised by 50 basis points you posted it was known about in advance - it was - i suggested that was how bear mkts start and i started selling, its been downhill ever since :) - it wasnt a reaction to the 50 that moved the market, it was what the market thought would follow it

stan...FED was late to inflation party...transitory is forgotton as the Russia invasion to Ukraine has prolonged...FED is doing the tough talk because the Dow is still propped around the 30k...QT has only just begun in Sept I think...FTSE is a 3 tier basket case Index...Pharmas (AZN), Miners and Oilys...banks just float about in their coat tails up/down...yesterday Miners and Oily were down but AZN was cushioning the falls...

dikutrue, but for three months fed has clearly signalled inflation is coming down and it doesnt matter who goes under the bus...for some reason uk investors didnt think it would affect them....

Morale of story is buying and holding to infinity not working...too many macro/geo political variables out there at any given time..hence punters turned into junky day/medium traders...

careful, you must have been a bit unlucky on RMG as that hit around £6
in three different years since listing.

Begs the question do shareholders really own the company or just in name form...the company runs by itself...you could be the shareholder 1 minute and not the next minute...retail are just speculators...

I

But if the top man of a £20bn company gets paid almost as much they are filled with loathing.
And the owners of the business, we shareholders, deserve nothing.

Open reach is a completely stand alone company already. Had been for several years.

BT has declared a war on its staff who are still working from home and has said if they don't come into the office three times a week they will face disciplinary action.

Got out at £1.60 and do see this suffering as it did in the last recession , so £1 is on the cards again. Then might be good re entry including dividend ( assuming they don’t cut again !)

That value is the sum of the parts, and there are pieces that Drahi would like to combine with his other entities, and others like Openreach that likely be listed as a standalone entity.

If he wants to control the company, he will care little for the performance of his initial wedge stake ... If anything, he will be considering that it's now cheaper to acquire the stake he needs to start influencing the board and fate of the company...I don't he bought in simply for the stellar returns that BT is known for delivering...Rather, he seems some intrinsic value that he can unlock...

Not too late when you see potential negativity ahead... As many of us do... But yes, hindsight is wonderful and there are many things I could have done back in the day that would have paid dividends today...But we can only play the game in front of us
