Trouble with running the Winners is that they sometimes get tired.

Cut your Losers and run your Winners !
Or have you got anything better to put your money into?
PS Unless you want to use up your CGT allowance today before the end of the tax year.

It looks to me like an ordinary disclosure of Directorial buying - seen that happen just before takeovers in the past!

Can anyone explain the Director announcement on 23rd to me? Does it rule out an imminent takeover?

Unfortunately, there seem to be 50 takeover rumours for every one that materialises. However, BTSM looks a good buy and hold type stock to me. The Company is performing well and the longterm uptrend of the shareprice should continue, imho. Holding and happy.

This last weeks rise seems disproportionate to the market generally, perhaps just bid rumours but as you say , makes sense to hold for now.

bought (i thought poorly at the time)a holding c.430p - but believe some talk in Guardian of 650p cash bid by France's Saint Gobain. you never know it could happen

No names were mentioned. It was a very brief comment. Probably it'll come to nothing, but I'm not ruling it out. Certainly BSS share price has been a strong performer recently. Someone's been buying at these levels.

Did it name any names? I would think the interested parties in BSS could be Wolseley, SIG or Saint-Gobain.

I doubt Wolseley would get past the Competition Commission, leaving the other two. Saint-Gobain would be my favourite.

That said buying these on a PER of nearly 30 at the top of the market makes little sense, so it's probably just talk. If there were any bidders they would have shown themselves when energyi first posted and the PER was 13.

Nice rise yesterday. Vague talk of bid reported in The Times today.

Solid interims, but only up 1.8% - looks like the market expected pretty good results anyway.Still unimpressive yield despite todays dividend hike.

It seems that this wants to get up and through the psychological 360p barrier, but then stops, sniffs at it, and then comes back to 340 for another attempt.
Very frustrating.
Any thoughts anyone?
