CommunicAsia Launch
Singapore, 19 June '07 – London based Infinite Solutions Ltd (ISL), the global mobile solutions integrator and, Broca, the digital communications technology provider, today announce the launch of Asia's first Secure Advanced Messaging Service, (SAMS) application at CommunicAsia 2007.

ISL will also be launching Call & Play – which allows gamers to play PC and console games from their mobile, and 3onTV – which offers live TV streaming or video on demand.

Broca's SAMS
Broca's SAMS opens up the mobile phone as an entirely new sales and marketing channel, enabling businesses to create additional revenue streams from SMS through secure communication of financial information and greatly improved usability.

Businesses can now complete transactions and communicate with existing and new customers via advanced form-based SMS messaging. Message formats can be designed via a simple API, allowing customers to simply tick boxes to buy goods or services. By enabling the customer to register a PIN or password, personal details such as credit card data can be easily communicated with the knowledge that the customer has authenticated themselves. The data is encrypted using a revolutionary patented cyclical encryption technology and cannot be derived from the handset or over the air.

SAMS' form-based functionality provides even more intuitive use of SMS through drop-down response options. This java-based form factor communication also allows companies to gain greater control over the interaction and responses with their customers, providing cleaner customer data and greater market knowledge.

Commenting on today's launch, Duncan Ward, ISL's Chief Executive Officer says "Until now m-commerce has been held back by security issues such as the cardholder not being present at the time of the transaction. This has prevented retailers from offering their products and services available for purchase via a mobile phone. SAMS will completely open up the mobile phone as a new route to market in Asia and I am truly excited by the opportunities that will unfold as a result."

Brendan Burke, Sales Director at Broca Plc adds; "SAMS is a product rooted in simplicity, both for the business customer and the end-user. Because it uses traditional SMS functionality, it overcomes many of the obstacles that have frustrated the growth of other mobile channels; and because it works with the large majority of handsets. This creates an extra sales, marketing or communication channel and additional revenue which would otherwise not exist."

3onTV
3onTV provides a method of accessing live TV streaming or video on demand. Users simply make a direct video call from their 3G handset which takes them to a video menu. It is fully interactive so can also be used to allow an audience to participate from their mobile phone at home and thus increase audience retention.

Call & Play
The Call & Play service provides game publishers with an opportunity to generate further revenue through mobile gaming. The service allows consumers to dial up and play actual console and PC versions of games on their mobile phones. The service also allows consumers to buy these games via their mobile handset. Call & Play supports a wide range of platforms such as Playstation (2, 3 and PSP), Xbox and Xbox360 and PC games.

SAMS' security aspect integrates well with both these offerings, by providing a secure connection for 3G mobile purchases, and by allowing audience participation limitations for 3onTV.

Announcement of new contract this morning seems to have arrested the recently slip back in the share price.

Broca, the provider of secure advanced messaging technology, announces that it has signed a contract with Socratos (UK) Limited ("Socratos") to act as a
reseller for its innovative Secure Advanced Message Service (SAMS). This
acheivement represents the fourth such agreement, in addition to the three
agreements announced at the time of the demerger of Broca from 2ergo Group plc.
The existing agreements are with 2ergo Group plc ("2ergo"), Rapide
Communications and Infinite Solutions Limited.

read this in itweek:

Digital communications firm Broca has launched a new SMS application designed to give retailers and service providers a sales and marketing channel and an easier way of communicating with customers.

The Secure Advanced Messaging Service (SAMS) application features patented cyclical encryption technology that does not rely on PKI-style exchange of keys, and ensures that any confidential information on the handset cannot be found or intercepted in transmission, said Broca's managing director, Ian Price.

Firms could use the technology to create branded forms through simple APIs and deliver them via text message to customers. Customers can fill in these forms, which could include simple drop-down menus or tick-boxes, to buy goods or services, Price added.

PIN numbers and passwords can also be registered to secure authentication before using credit cards and other sensitive data.

"The protocol is pretty broad ranging. We're looking at it as the way to bring commerce to the handset, so people can pay for things on the move," said Price.

Because the protocol is well known and ubiquitous it could prove popular with consumers, Price added. Potential applications could facilitate e-ticketing, e-voting and mobile banking, including two-factor authentication.

"The range of applications is wherever there's a requirement for secure communications or data capture," said Price. "It could also be used by enterprises to send simple secure messages. Some customers are looking to using it for market research questionnaires."

Chris Barling, chief executive of e-commerce specialist Actinic, argued that m-commerce has not taken off because most consumers can wait until they get home to purchase items.

"As far as the UK is concerned, m-commerce has not happened. Distance purchasing is a considered thing because you have to wait for it to be delivered anyway. The fundamental problem is that the device is too small," Barling said.

However, Barling highlighted

e-ticketing as one area where impulse buyers might use the SAMS service. The ticket could be texted back to the consumer with a unique signifier or bar code to provide entry to an event.

Rochdale. I guess my biggest fear in this section is picking the "Betamax" technology, so I can't offer individual share advice. So I've hedged, and gone with MNE, which is a specialist IT investing in 6 different sectors including the areas you've mentioned. It's up around 20% since I started in September 06, though this area is one that gets hit proportionately harder in downturns.

Sorry I can't be specific, and also for the O/T remarks

be good to find another RGO - have been trying to find some growth stocks in the "green" area - renewable energy, green product manufacturers.

Got to be the biggest market in next decade, energy saving devices, carbon neutral, recycling etc. etc..

anyone invested in any shares in that area?
