The announcement yesterday by 2ergo is a clear indication that they are buying back Broca but at what price?

On the basis that Nigel Wray bough around 2m shares announced 25th July when the share price was around 17/19p and he holds just under 12% of the company then I would expect the takeout figure to be between 25 - 30p.Also bearing in mind that RGO hold almost 20% of Broca then one can assume that RGO are the buyers.dyor

Smell,

Glad you find them useful!

Maybe, just maybe, I understand alot more than you think ;-). But then again, maybe I don't. For example, does anybody on here understand the nature of the agreement between broca and SoS in the first place? I certainly don't but my instincts suggest to me that this move is more of a damage limitation exercise, but this is just an opinion.

2ergo is an SMS aggregator - they simply aggregate certain services across mobile networks. They're not too bad at it either. On the other hand Broca is interested in delivering secure SMS and also has technology enabling form delivery via SMS.
I may be wrong, but I think the only thing here that is patented is the secure SMS protocol. The delivery of encoded (as opposed to encrypted) information to the handset via SMS (thus enabling forms) is not difficult if you understand the standard SMS protocol. This allows for delivery of any form of text-encoded data. Delivery doesn't have to be to the standard SMS port, just as you don't have to use port 80 to host internet applications on your server. So all you'd need is a handset application capable of understanding your encoding that listens on a designated port. If you don't require security anybody can do it - just read the protocol! Most of the trials announced thus far do not seem to suggest the use of the secure version of SMS, but again I could be wrong.

I genuinely cannot envisage a market for secure SMS, when handsets are becoming more and more internet capable, and are thus able to leverage (I hate that word) SSL over http and other such mature encryption technologies. They'll also be able to leverage the richer mobile form controls that are becoming more widespread.

Do you suppose that the former financial director of Manchester United knows a thing or two about business? I reckon he does, but again this just an opinion.

It's all about opinions at the end of the day. If you don't like mine - great. I'd suggest you pay no attention to it. For the record, I'm not that convinced by yours either. Isn't the world great?! :-)

Anyway, to put my money where my mouth is I have ditched what little interest I had in this stock. I won't be posting on here again.

yffulF,

you should ring 2ergo and let them know, as they have a loan agreement with broca. or perhaps given 2ergo's business and their relationship with broca, they understand this business and market better than you.

please keep posting as your posts are so insightful!

thanks,

these are the kind of stocks that you buy now and keep for a few years. If they are successful they'll be worth a lot more than 80p. But at the moment its a punt, but one must say, would they buy the IPR if they didn't think it was all going to move forward now and get a return. All in all a positive sign and maybe the start of something good to come.

Well said kamukak. It seems as though encrypted SMS (I mean, for crying out loud!) isn't what the consumer was crying out for.
