Britvic, which owns the Ballygowan spring water brand, says it is “examining strategic options” for its Counterpoint wholesaler supplier of beverages to Irish pubs, the Sunday Independent reports. Britvic told analysts that the Irish unit is a “margin drag” and confirmed to the paper that it is “challenged” and a review has already begun.

I must admit I've not looked in detail but it seems that the Bvic share price is supported on market down days but held back on market up days - and I just wonder if there is something going on here in the background?After all they'll unlikely be a better time for someone to come and offer for it.

Soft drinks maker Britvic was also in the black after it reported a small rise in full-year pre-tax profit as lower costs helped to offset a revenue decline, as its out-of-home segment was dented by the Covid-19 crisis.
