12/10/2004 16:16 | The delisting is set to take place the day before the vote. pc | pc4900074200
12/10/2004 11:31 | No I think that it is saying "we have applied to delist to cover the possibility that shareholders may vote against us". The delisting would not be dependent on how shareholders vote but would obviously have to take place in advance of any such vote. The risk referred to is the risk that the UKLA might not agree to a delisting. Well, that's how I read it :-) | tuteratut
12/10/2004 09:53 | From the restructuring update RNS just out: cancellation of the listings of the Ordinary Shares and A Shares by the UK Listing Authority ( which is required if the proposed scheme of arrangement with shareholders lapses and the disposal pursuant to the Business Transfer Agreement is not approved by shareholders) So does that mean cancellation of listing will NOT go ahead if the proposed scheme of arrangement lapses etc etc? | martin036
12/10/2004 09:45 | Should we hang on to our shares and wait for de-listing. Does anyone know what the likely value might be????? | skintvestor

10/10/2004 13:49 | The Government moans that folk are not saving for retirement; what a suprise! If you do, they shaft you; if you pay in nothing, they will shower you with benefits. What a stupid short-term view that tomorrow's earners will have to pay for. | barnetpeter

09/10/2004 17:14 | Thanks for everyones thoughts, 20:20 hindsight is a great thing. I am now 63 and will be forced to retire in 2 years from my current job. If this goes t*ts up I will have to live on what I can salvage plus my state pension, plus any part time work I can get. Its a great reward for a lifetimes work and saving. Thanks Blair, Montegue & Co. Look after No. 1. | sloot
09/10/2004 17:01 | sloot £800,000 now worth £100,000 ????? It will be a slow road back and I'm sure everyone here would wish you well. I know you have decided to sit tight on it; I presume that is because you have it in a tax-free wrapper. So there is little point in saying that you don't have to win it back the way you lost it. | tuteratut
09/10/2004 14:05 | oh man, thats tough, hope everything works out for the best | soul_trade

09/10/2004 11:22 | sloot - You shouldnt have all your eggs in ONE basket. I'd recommend you read Rich Dads Prophecy by R. Kiyosaki and fill your 'ARK' with other assets. Indeed, consider different asset classes too, not just paper. Best Regards. | 2deano
09/10/2004 09:54 | sloot. Well said. Montague et al will have no such pension worries. i hope it works out for you and BGY proves to be a multi-bagger wonder stock. You aren't in any rush to retire, are you :-) | tuteratut
09/10/2004 06:59 | I hold all my BGY shares in a PEP. I have just received the following from Barclays Stockbrokers (Was Charles Schwab) (My capitals) "Under Inland Revenue regulations, you cannot hold unlisted stock in a PEP. IF the delisting takes place you will not be able to continue to hold British Energy shares in your PEP. WHEN we receive confirmation that the delisting HAS TAKEN PLACE we will write to you further with details of the options open to you" SO - all this scaremongering about having to sell all your PEP/ISA share before the delisting is absolute b*ll*cks and probably has been seeded by the bigger institutions or even BGY themselves. Still holding my 650,000 until the end ........ This is my entire pension pot, my life savings since 29 - I have scrimped and saved for my retirement all these years, taken HMG's recommendation of looking after my own future, invested in HMG backed stock - I expect when they delist HMG will want another cut of stamp duty when the shares have to be transferred into a nominee account ---- Meanwhile the fat b*st*rd Montague and the directors retire on a nice big fat bonus - See you on the streets you scum | sloot |
