19/10/2010 08:54 | Dispute: British Airways BA 'will not back down' in cabin crew dispute 19.10.10 British Airways will not back down in the year-long cabin crew dispute and is ready to run a near-full service in the event of another strike, the airline's chief executive Willie Walsh said today. He said it was "entirely" the fault of the cabin crew's union Unite that the dispute had dragged on for 12 months. And he added that changes to working practices should have been tackled 10 years ago. Addressing the annual convention of travel organisation Abta in Malta, Mr Walsh said: "In the past I have seen managers and businesses ignore issues and back down in the face of industrial action. We are not going to do that." | anony mous
17/10/2010 20:48 | I suppose for many traders they should be thanking Woodley and Simpson for allowing them to pick up BAY stock so cheaply! | schlemiel

15/10/2010 10:32 | LOL ! like bulls should have sold at 1.50, 180, then 2.10, then 2.50 no way, these are heading much much higher ! alot more pain for shorters; shorters have been burnt with BA in the past loads of times. where are the shorting muppets who spouted their rubbish at £2.00 ??? 3.00+ on the way :-) | anony mous
15/10/2010 09:52 | Now is a damn good time for bulls to sell (assuming they sensibly bought around 100). Then we can bring it down again :) | ben nevis

12/10/2010 20:29 | y1phr & bjago I would not get too excited at the moment even though the "unions" appear to be co-perating to stop action. It appears (IMO) a false sense of security to bide time. | chancer

10/10/2010 20:02 | from todays sunday paper............ Walsh spoke as BA's biggest cabin crew union, Bassa, indicated that a new peace deal could be brokered with the firm in a long-running industrial dispute. Tony Woodley, joint general secretary of Bassa's parent union, Unite, held talks with Walsh last week. In an email to members Bassa said the announcement of a fresh strike poll had been delayed to allow talks to continue. "We have been informed Tony believes that he should be able to conclude a new proposal, with significant changes, by the middle of next week at the latest." and..... The dispute erupted a year ago after the airline unilaterally reduced crew numbers on flights, but Unite has now accepted the changes by dropping them from negotiations. | anony mous
