09/8/2010 16:17 | 9 Aug 2010: British Airways PLC (BAY.LN) has suspended another member of cabin crew who also acts as a union representative for British Airlines Stewards and Stewardesses Association, highlighting continuing tensions between the airline and the BA union arm. Nicky Marcus is the latest BASSA representative to be suspended, following similar action by the airline in early May against branch secretary Duncan Holley, a person familiar with the matter said Monday. | anony mous

09/8/2010 12:24 | from todays Guardian.... Unite union is at it again ! Millions of airline passengers face the prospect of more travel disruption if firefighters, security guards and ground staff at Heathrow and five other airports vote for strike action in a pay dispute. The result of a ballot of more than 6,000 workers at airports operated by the British Airports Authority (BAA) is expected on Thursday, and their union, Unite, has warned it will move swiftly towards industrial action if members want it. Airports might be forced to shut by the August bank holiday, even though the union must give a week's notice of stoppages, which could also hit Stansted, Southampton, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen airports. | anony mous

02/8/2010 13:48 | Guardian: Citigroup & RBS raise their price targets for BA. "British Airways shares jumped 4%, or 8.7p, to 228p, by 11:30am after the carrier's price target was lifted by Citigroup and the Royal Bank of Scotland. Citigroup said in a note to investors": "Our target price is raised by 12p (to 295p) based on 100% probability of its joint venture with American Airlines going ahead in our view (following regulatory approval 2 weeks ago) to give a total value of synergies of 25p per share." British Airways is also working on a merger with Spain's Iberia. The enlarged group plans to dominate the North Atlantic traffic, through BA, as well as routes from Europe to South America, where Iberia has a strong presence." | bartram
02/8/2010 11:45 | TODAY:- UK Pension Regulator Gives Nod To British Airways' Pension Plans and Unite to restart talks with BA. | anony mous
02/8/2010 10:54 | I agree WW has done a great job. Even though the dispute has dragged on, BA is slowly getting stronger (the old fleet staff are gradually being replaced by the new fleet as time passes) and the big crunch in union power will happen when BA/Iberia properly merge and if/when AA join the bandwagon too. They might consolidate a couple UK-Spain flights (and make a small number of cabin crew redundant). For too long have the unions treated the airline as their own piggy bank (and that's coming from a person [me] who does not hold BA shares) | factsonly
30/7/2010 09:29 | found it cheers | jailbird
30/7/2010 09:17 | Willie doing great job. Decent numbers, showing improvement. Good piece on Bloomberg this morning too. steadily up to 3.00+ | anony mous
30/7/2010 08:31 | mark, no. SE, - i agree start to look forward now | jailbird
30/7/2010 08:25 | The cabin crews, BASSA and UNITE must realise that this strike action is a lost cause. They need to forget their petty grievances and make BA into a progressive and prosperous company. WW has done a magnificent job and hopefully we shall soon see evidence that the recent cost-cutting measures will produce an improved financial performance. | selborne_edge
30/7/2010 08:07 | do ba pay a dividend and if so how much | marko1961
30/7/2010 07:36 | if they can achieve this full year, then next year is gonna be alot better with AA/Iberia is full flow and also forward booking starting to show for the Olympics 2012. Trading Outlook While some economic experts are flagging the risk of a "double dip" recession, the steady recovery continues and, on that basis, we continue to target to break even at a profit before tax level for the full year as we move forward on our strategic objectives and continue to build on our excellent customer service. | jailbird
30/7/2010 07:18 | Both Walsh and the cabin crew must go.........a fresh start needed!!! | aspers
30/7/2010 07:15 | Both revenues and cost being hit, but the interim statement titled 'Improved performance from revenue and costs'? In addition, loss after tax increased 15.1%, and loss per share increased 13.5%. Gotta be a tough day. | etome
