23/4/2006 17:35 | lundhousegreen, what is I.B.? My suggestions are ECWC let the professionals make it happen as they have with ESH and BWG. | praipus
23/4/2006 16:08 | lundhousegreen Thank you for the update. I have had a modest 1700 MCKS since they were just under £2.00 - so I am very pleased with the progress. MVK which is purely a personal punt should publish full year figures on Wednesday, 26th April. SEO AGM is on 2nd May. Still hoping for a big contract announcement from them but it may be a while in coming. z | zeppo
23/4/2006 08:40 | Glad you did OK also Zeppo. I.B. prefers NWG, DVW for takeover/merger, & KEL for a good management team. He has never seemed keen on UU., he mentioned debt. Off sector, they are very keen on MCKS, so maybe worth a chat with the boys? | lundhousegreen
22/4/2006 21:09 | lundhousgreen I hope you have done well here. Just had a few. Still very pleased. DVW or NWG would do us a power of good. Also into UU. Has that too much debt to be broken up? I don't know how these things work. z | zeppo
22/4/2006 12:50 | ...and which of Dee, Northumbrian or Pennon would you pick? Beautiful weather where I am. This is just a break from the compost heap - real gardening. Regards | clusium
22/4/2006 12:23 | Considerations: 1. Are we to assume that, with the Board and Ecofin behind it, the bid will go ahead? 2. When is it likely to put money in your pocket? 3. If it does, there's roughly a 1.8% appreciation left in BWG. 4. Do you hold on for 1.8% or go somewhere else - e.g. into one or other mentioned above? 5. Is anyone else going to appear in the frame for BWG? | clusium
21/4/2006 09:07 | Anyone got BWG preference shares? (BWRA) | lundhousegreen
21/4/2006 08:48 | Yes, great news for us BWG holders and I've gone in for NWG this am on the back of this significant news for the sector At the risk of sounding greedy I think BWG is underselling itself at this offer price. The deal needs 90% approval to go through, they've already got 32% and the other major shareholders total another 23%. There is therefore an opportunity here for the private investors to try and hold out for a higher price ... | tuning peg
21/4/2006 08:23 | Picked up some DVW this morning...but have a 'lot' of NWG. | ivancampo
21/4/2006 08:22 | I agree that NWG & DVW now look to be high on the list. IMO. DYOR. Outside the sector, have a look at MCKS. DYOR. | lundhousegreen
21/4/2006 08:15 | Had to be - all in the price. Sad really. Where now? | clusium
21/4/2006 07:47 | Ivan.... other companies in the sector, including NWG, will rise on the back of this as the search is now on for the next takeover target. Good luck. LHG | lundhousegreen
21/4/2006 07:29 | Well done to all happy holders, I sold last November at 878 and switched to NWG because thought that might go for more of a premium than BWG. Was looking to get in around 9 quid but missed my opportunity. Regards | ivancampo
21/4/2006 07:16 | Takeover of BWG @ £10-60p a share plus special dividend of 22.5p a share. | lundhousegreen
20/4/2006 20:25 | Hope recent moves don't signal a takeover just yet. There's a long history of high yields, capital growth and returns for shareholders. May these continue. | clusium
20/4/2006 15:58 | I think you're well in.... | ivancampo
20/4/2006 14:40 | SP gone up nicely last few days. The proportion to buys and sells Thurs. (5k buys to 39k sells currently showing) makes me wonder if there is a big buyer in the background, with the share price rising again? Anyone any thoughts on this? | lundhousegreen
18/4/2006 14:36 | IMO the price appears to have held well above the £9 level for quite a while, and I am hoping for some upward movement in the share price after this time of consolidation. | lundhousegreen
13/4/2006 17:47 | The vagaries in the proce are bewildering - buy it yesterday at 893 and paying 920 today. But you have to ignore these and pick it up as you can - and as you say, transco, a very good buy on any account - to hold and earn. | clusium
06/4/2006 14:16 | Another very good buy - results due nothing but good news - water levels as high as profits from massive cost savings....excellend divi great growth potential + bid speculation... | transco2
05/4/2006 15:31 | Thank you, l'green. | clusium
04/4/2006 19:26 | It's the SETSmm system that sometimes shows the last trade as the mid price, so sometimes it shows as the buy or sell price making the share price appear volatile. I usually work out the "real" mid price myself to guage what's going on. As my previous posting (post 80), £9 will look inexpensive IMO when BWG is taken over. On Sky News business roundup tonight, the guest broker, David Buick of Cantor Index, mentioned the water and utilities sector, and thought there would be a lot of M&A activity in the next 2 years here in the UK and in Europe. | lundhousegreen |
