07/6/2010 12:40 | I hope to go to the meeting on the 16th June, just over a week away. Anyone else going? Voting is a formality, yes, but good opportunity to meet the movers and shakers ; Vikrant might even be there, Alex Dominic,Brett Morris and Livingstone. It maybe that they will do PR like piece on USA TV last time to unleash the marketing initiative Hence we now know why we did not have an update in March, results for the year ended thereon should come out soon, with a full update and the business plan. | norbus
07/6/2010 11:18 | Current networks now stand at 157,752...A very slight improvement on the on-going trend of 25k networks per quarter...We should easily breach 200k networks by November... | carl79
07/6/2010 10:18 | What does that Alexa pageviews chart suggest? All the networks that we acquired during the Ning-Free networks R-NOT-Us joined and then hardly ever logged in?? Although i do take these graphs with a handful of salt, this is the most dramatic dip we've seen if memory serves... Another alternative is that the networks converted to premium and moved to their own domain but thats probably not the case... Of course, Alexa could be presenting an incorrect vision of the facts - I think that's actually as likely as every network simultaneously neglecting their SG sites... Will be interesting to see what the unique visitor graph does as this is typically 60 days delayed so if there was a 65% drop in page views towards the end of ay, we'll find out in the next month or so because the unique visitors should fall accordingly | carl79
06/6/2010 16:32 | UB shows they are looking for well qualified top class developers and will not take on anything but the best; ta is right, that the priveledge to belong to their team working on the current target is attractive ,valuable consideration to a top developer may I ask what you do for a living since you seem so knowledgeable about php developers and their availability. | norbus
06/6/2010 13:32 | UB, Yes good staff are very difficult to come by They need a decent wage, of course, but the real trick is to make the job appeal. Doesn't have to be a huge salary if it's a great, fun, creative place to work and they get share options to keep them interested | the analyst
06/6/2010 13:28 | TA, That job has been advertised for a couple of months now so clearly they are struggling to get these kind of people. The type of skills required for this role are rare. If they want highly skilled staff they are going to have to pay top dollar. | uncle_bob
04/6/2010 15:18 | well, 1p is more likely in the next month than 4p imo - but i dont care either way - im not topping up unless it gets below 1p... I always have powder dry for impulse purchases so bring it on 4p or 1p, im not bothered, one im happy for cheap stock and the other im happy for the large paper profit...happy days. I hope you're both right...Bob then Norbus in that order otherwise it will suck ass! lol | carl79
04/6/2010 14:57 | uncle bob there was Carl79 worrying about you, when you really are a basher! when you find stock for 1p buy all you can and sell it to me for more, whatever price you were waiting for, you've lost it now. I saw reasonable volume of buying on plus the last 3 days. I stole stock at over 1p when I got a few on the 2nd | norbus
04/6/2010 13:41 | I remain optimistic that I will be able to top up at 1p. | uncle_bob
04/6/2010 10:14 | Neither do i Norbus - V2 months away according to intimations from the last webcast - but we can hope! :-) | carl79
04/6/2010 09:41 | we may see a debugged V1 by 16th , but doubt we'd see V2 that soon. Perhaps we'll also see a busplan forward, and a better outline of the marketing thrust. | norbus
04/6/2010 09:23 | Ok, ok - lets steer clear of personal jabs - however innocent. TA and I have worked hard to keep the two main boards informative and from experience it goes south quickly when things get too personal... uncle bob - i do understand where you are coming from. Past performance would indicate that following a significant rise we'll invariable spike back down...but nothing suggests that is going to happen today - if anything we may tick up. Look on PLUS, things are blue over there after a buy... Norbus, yep. I am hopeful the PR hits the spot...and I also hope that we see V2 soon - the 16th or not long after would do me! :-) I really want to get under the numbers - how quick have costs rose, how quick have revenues rose, when do we expect b/e, etc etc. | carl79
04/6/2010 08:29 | Uncle-bob I sympathise; believe me I know the feeling. I used to be like you till I went to the Doctor and got some Prosac. Now I see the sun is out and the world is not coming to an end this afternoon. It was the depression that got Mr Bird to shoot all these people. Cheer up , it might never happen. | norbus
04/6/2010 08:18 | Drop back to 1p starts today. | uncle_bob
03/6/2010 22:24 | Thanks norbus and yes... I've heard the same thing :) By the way, for those that only read the brief rns and didn't go on to look at the full document, it can be found here: "The Company continues to see demand for its internet based social networking software service, SocialGO, grow with subscription revenues increasing consistently on a monthly basis following the product launch in February 2009. In line with this increasing demand the Company is currently focused on improving the SocialGO software to meet the requirements that consumers have for the product as well as on improving its marketing and sales initiatives so as to expand the market for SocialGO software services and thereby maximise revenues generated from this service." | the analyst
03/6/2010 20:38 | uncle-bob you are as pessimistic as a pawnbroker. TA/Carl I hear there is top quality PR on the way after the 16th. All will then be revealed | norbus
03/6/2010 19:40 | Ever the optiimist hey Bob?! :-) | carl79
03/6/2010 19:39 | Oh well back to 1p next week. | uncle_bob
03/6/2010 13:21 | TA, yes, it is yet another potential positive but I am not reading too much into it. I dont know the minutia of the discussion that have taken place and what, if any, concessions BGT have made to retain Veddis as investors. Norbus, no disrespect implied by what you say so none taken. You have your opinion as do I. You were not so sure it was screaming out that Vikram simply wanted more (hence the depressed price - im assuming this is what you mean??) a wee while ago though and if anything you were quite irritated at the low price, regardless of how temporary or misleading! Ultimately, regardless of what is said, the share price was at the 1p level becasue the wider market did not have an appetite for the shares. This could be the result of a multitude of reasons and im not saying the share price deserved to be at 1p, but at the time, there was no one putting their hand in their pocket, not even you or I (who are bulls). Unless you are in some way intimating that Vikrant has ordered a veto on any positive information coming from the company in order to suppress market interest, I honestly do not understand how you think this one man influenced the likes of you and I to not buy more shares at 1.05 (which I actually considered yesterday before the move north). I got a quote for 150k three times and nearly pressed buy but have promised myself i'll only top up sub 1p as i actually think i have enough BGT...Its semantics anyway. If we hit 4p with no more than a peep from the company, i'll be shocked but i wont be complaining! If we dont though and this stagnates or even drifts in the lull between news, I may remind you of this conversation if you start to get agitated at the lack of company news and apparent disinterest in driving the share price .. | carl79
03/6/2010 12:20 | Norbus, Just got back to my desk so missed your message. I agree, I think that towards the end of the year we will see quite a transformation here. I'm particularly impressed with the fact they will soon have three non-execs on the board. As you know, that is extremely unusual for an AIM microcap. In fact, I can't think of another microcap out there that has been prepared to have that sort of self-imposed governance at this fledgling stage of development. | the analyst
03/6/2010 10:00 | Guys You are slightly off the scent imv. A management buyout is most unlikely as all the management are busy building the company technically commercially and improving its corporate security. They do have full community of interst. Their "common" interst is to deliver value for all concerned through Social Go. I believe they will do it hence I made sure I bought more yesterday to avoid dilution. | norbus
03/6/2010 09:34 | Given the dilution and external influences, im not sure they'd have the funds or support to do that...im not even sure why they'd want to. They have healthy stakes as it stands and success makes them very wealthy, if the businesses goes pop in 24months time they also don't lose their shirts | carl79 |
