implies perhaps an annual divi going forward of 7p

Yes all very disappointing but at least they didn't cut the dividend altogether and they still have little debt and a healthy cash position. It will certainly be a long hold but I'm tempted to average down as the core side of the business is still holding up well and the technical side will pick up in time. One to stick in the drawer for now but definitely not a time to sell.

Was expecting 30-40% divi cut. 50% is more of a rebasing but I suppose allows for re-hiking in the future. Still a reasonable yield at current prices...

The business will recover along with shipping cycle in due course.

was expecting a divi cut but was expecting 5mish profit not the 3-3.5mil as you say a hold and a takeover potential nearly bought a few more earlier but decided to wait a few days or weeks see how the market pans out

Not a good start to the week.

There's a big lag on orders in the technical division, I expect, so it does make sense to me. 14p dividend then, but not sure what the rebased dividend will be for 2018. Core business is performing well which is a relief.

Sounds like the Technical division will have lost £5-6m this year and so that is definitely the problem. Not inconsistent with Northbridge, Pressure Technologies etc. though. It will take a while for the recovery to happen. Taking £6m of cost out is definitely the way forward, until the market recovers.

Still a hold for me as there is no financial distress and they have a clean small cash position which is higher than prior year. Should recover in time and the dividend probably needed rebasing anyway.

Looks a bit of a target for a bid now as the core business is no doubt worth more than the market capitalisation. Technical services and Logistics worth not a great deal. Do wonder whether they wouldn't be better splitting the group into two and being a pure ship broking business, but they look committed to their diversified model. In any case, definitely not the right time to sell the advisory businesses.

This really is a play on a bid, i don't have any confidence that current management is up to the job.

There will be a 12 month lag from oil price rising before technical starts to improve.

not sure how much it all holds water... oil and gas prices are up but the group's technical division is still seeing weakness.....

Wow - underlying PBT is now only expected to be between £3m-£3.5m, compared to the three analyst forecasts of around £8.5m! Is that correct or have I misunderstood something?

Another one where it was better to watch and wait. Phew.

I'm hoping for one Gateside and after Clarkson's hope it's a positive one and the dividend is held. If that happens we should see a major uptick and hopefully a rise back to fair value around £4 in my view. Fingers well crossed.

Looks like the worm could be turning, guess we are looking for a close above 340p
to signal a break out.
