Why? I assume that you have just looked at the three share prices and put them in order of historic performance.

In this sector - i would stick to Clarksons and/or -still better - James Fisher....

Agreed. It will be interesting to see if BMS features in any of the traditional Tips for '17 under the heading of oversold, due a rerating?

p.s. and unless it is different these days, the tanker market is more important to BMS than dry cargo.

I guess the fall is largely down to the drop in the BDI. But the level is still quite high, and VLCC rates and other tanker rates still seem good. On an historical basis (looking back over the last 5 years), the BDI is not especially low, so I do not expect a hard hit for BMS that would justify a price under 300p.

Ckn down nearly 3%. So an industry wide issue rather than specific to BMS. Share price here nearly always more volatile, would like some news flow from the Company, nothing due for while though.

CKN also weak today. Maybe there are worries re OPEC cutbacks and impact on tanker demand in 2017 but I would agree BMS share price appears disproportionately hit unless there is something we don't know yet. There was no comment re the final divi but I wouldn't expect them to at this stage anyway.

Something certainly looks decidedly wrong here. One would have thought with the indexes picking up BMS should have at least held it's own but this fall is not only consistent but even seems to be increasing. The dividend is the least of my worries if the share price keeps falling. Somebody must know something we don't or it's the best buying opportunity you'll ever get? I'm putting no more in until I see some reasoning behind this.

speedsgh much appreciated info. Thanks.Let's hope the dividend is safe, as at 9% yield it really puts a floor on the price. But then I did not see it falling below 320p and it did!

Perhaps edmundshaw but both tanker indices have been rising recently. The dirty tanker index is up 75% since it's August low and the clean index is up 25% since its September low. Both are up quite a bit since the interims announcement at the end of October.

So unless the number of transactions has decreased markedly, H2 broking should be ok. I suppose there's always the risk of a deterioration in the technical side but most other oil services companies have bounced with the oil price whereas BMS seems to have been left behind.

Oil productions cutbacks means less activity for the crude carriers, less offshore storage too going forward. I guess this is impacting BMS in the near term...

I was feeling mildly optimistic yesterday and topped up at just over £3, having originally decided to wait for good news from the Company before buying. Fully loaded with BMS now.

Yep should be worth a punt given the high yield and potential for capital gain from this price level. Looking like we're headed for a close below 300. I'd certainly be buying more if I hadn't already bought so many at 330p and the rest of my cash has gone into BVIC.

Afternoon

Been watching for a while now and couldn't resist a small punt using up some of the cash at the bottom of one of my accounts. Fingers crossed and good fortune to all holders.
