27/1/2021 20:53 | Hopefully the bookbuild completed prior to the US deciding to sell off today :) (should be likely!) Expect there might be an Oslo Bors announcement first thing tomorrow to keep an eye out for. Eric | pireric
27/1/2021 20:14 | i think that b/c AB will no longer have a 20% shareholder that it will give AB more liquidity. I can imagine institutions not being too keen on AB b/c of the large third party shareholding. So i think the benefits for BMS are 2 fold (1) it will highlight the hidden value in its balance sheet (2) it reduces debt considerable thus de-gearing and de-risking BMS (3) it will allow AB to attract a higher rating and thus benefit BMS for the remain 10m shares. As you say pireric - we will know a bit more shortly All IMHO, DYOR + BoL BMS is in my top5 hldgs | thirty fifty twenty
27/1/2021 20:10 | Given a market cap of £62m this means the AB holding is worth over 20% of the current BMS market cap... all depends on whether you think that was in the price. | edmundshaw
27/1/2021 16:57 | Thanks Eric So should be good for the share price | hybrasil
27/1/2021 16:50 | Basically they are looking to sell up to half the holding in Aqualis Braemar. Its an accelerated bookbuild process which probably means that they have buyers (institutions lined up). I think that is especially the case because I reckon they are breaking their lock-up. It could also explain some of the weakness at AB in the last few days as these processes are normally forward marketed. If I assume the close price on the sale is NOK 7.75, they they would raise £6.4m gross of fees as cash to sit on the balance sheet. Positive in my view given the markets reluctance here in the past to look through the debt pile, yet it also ignored the value of the stake in AB. Braemar will continue to hold the other half of the stock they aren't looking to sell. I imagine we will hear the outcome of this process within 24 hrs max, and possibly this evening. 27/1/2021 16:38 | What does that RNS as to the sale its shares in OSLO hold for us? | hybrasil
26/1/2021 12:41 | BMS has been a great investment for me with a 30% increase in within a 1 month time frame. I continue to hold :) | haywards26
26/1/2021 10:50 | If you are prepared to pay and have a good broker you can buy as many as you want - at a price. | this_is_me

25/1/2021 15:14 | Shipping in demand; BMS shares in demand. | this_is_me
23/1/2021 07:08 | Shipping crisis: I'm being quoted £10,000 for a £1,600 container' people have been turning to online shopping, and that's causing a surge in demand for goods from China. | this_is_me
19/1/2021 16:41 | Thanks for the comment hybrasil - fortunately other investments will cover but such a pity to see the mixed service model didnt work for them.Looks like the market happy as is though | mayojames
19/1/2021 10:03 | Mayo I hope it recovers sufficiently for you Currently it’s all looking quite positive | hybrasil
19/1/2021 09:41 | The current spike confirms the upward momentum in the share price which I expect to continue. Having bought two lots in April and May below £1, I have now more than recouped previous losses here. | this_is_me
18/1/2021 21:29 | Hello hybrasil It did seem a bit over the top but I think I had the soup as you call it when I bought into the vision of a second Clarksons. This co was at the 4 pound range a few years ago and since then they have bought co's at a high and seen them drop under their management incl any non execs. You may have bought on the low but I came in when I believed they could deliver and replicate Clarksons but the result is buy high sell low or merge for help. So tks for comment but guess you not losing as much as me but hey thats investing - this is a great broker taken away from its focus and Mr Series seems to be getting it back into shape and Mr Gundy continues to deliver - mayo | mayojames
18/1/2021 14:36 | Mayo Were you on the soup for that last post? | hybrasil
16/1/2021 22:59 | its not the market but how good the brokers are at working it - but also the share price bit more than this as already seen the brokers in Braemar good but the directors/direction over time not so and not seeing big difference unless you did buy in thr trough - also wonder what the non execs adding to to the price realse a plc needs but would be great if input in industry adds value | mayojames
15/1/2021 16:53 | i think global shipping rates are increasing rapidly which is good news for a global shipping broker! | thirty fifty twenty
14/1/2021 13:49 | Got some but trying to buy some more though someone is bidding £1.75 in the auction Edit A mere 1k shares moved the price. I had tried to buy 5k | hybrasil
14/1/2021 13:45 | Well said this-is -me /especially in this business where the personal connection to the clients often stronger than a brand name. Also feel my last post looked at whom may target Braemar and more research indicates my thoughts off course. More interesting is how Aqualis delivers to the group and where the new CEO invests energy and as you say the talent within the company. For sure a long way to go to get near the share price on past few years if ever. Lets hope we see a return to some dividend soon - a costly involvement for me to date but thats the risk. | mayojames
14/1/2021 13:12 | Thanks to contributors on this thread. Some heavyweight analysis compared to the rubbish on a lot of threads. Might I suggest that takeover synergies would not be the same in this industry as in others. It is the teams on the various desks that are important and how well the people in them work together. It is a tricky business to put two teams into one without problems. A takeover only makes sense if you can make sure that you will not ruffle too many staff feathers. | this_is_me |
