...talking about Kestrel Partners, they are increasing their stake in CTP(around 18%) and also hold MXCP.

Price now up >40% since the last statement. I'm coming around to the view that an after hours announcement is not necessarily a bad thing after all. It gives the market time to digest the news rather than make rash decisions. Kestrel see value here. Incidentally, they have also just disclosed a 10 million purchase and an 11% holding in CNIC. dyor.

Even so, Brady is expected to be loss-making this year. But it is enacting a round of cost cutting that will hopefully save £1.7mln a year.

from this september

the BoD love their LTIP plan dont they, doncha think its outrageous - 150% of salary bonus?

its a freeby paid for by printing shares at up to 15% dilution

its handed out not based on share price performance which would be good for PI's

but on eps targets

they're cutting 1.7m of costs from the business, im sure that will affect the projected eps target which is undemanding in the first place and they'll make target and get their bonus

you lot can enjoy a depressed shareprice and have your holding diluted on top

im sure lavalle's a clever man, he managed to get 96p for some of his shares earlier this year, lol

Kestrel over 19% now. Feel sorry for management - much better to have a diverse investor base. Will be interesting to know whether Hargreave Hale have reduced their position. Bigger fund than Kestrel but this kind of price fall will have hurt their fund performance too.

I'm interviewing the CEO of Brady (BRY) this coming Monday, 7 Dec 2015.

Please DON'T respond to this post here, as I won't be checking back.

My interview will be totally independent, as I'm NOT charging any fees. The company got in touch to say they would like a right to reply, given my scathing criticism of the company on Monday in my morning report on Stockop...

Regards, Paul Scott.

Kestrel increasing their shareholding at the expense of Investec and others is not a medium-term positive although it may be a short-term positive. It probably diminishes present or future management's ability to plan for the medium term. Kestrel were in for the bulk of their holding at over 80p and face a mark to market loss of about £4m on this investment which is large for their fund and reputationally damaging for them. They will increase pressure on Brady management to cut costs which is partly good in proving cash doubters wrong, but is bad if it means not funding future profitable products, and where else will growth come from given that they no longer have an acquisition currency ? I wonder whether it was the desire of Brady management to please or appease Kestrel after their mid October investment that prompted the ill fated share buyback at 80p on 31 October. It really does matter who your co-shareholders are.
