28/4/2021 09:06 | If you read the report it is not going to reduce the issue because of staff ops by end of year So the buyback only stops more dilution . To much greedy in the board room .The div is still good but the share issue needs to be reduced along with debt And this is what is needed | portside1
28/4/2021 08:47 | 2 years there was 18 billion shares out there, now 20 billion. Keep buying back. They slashed our dividend by 40% would be nice for share holders to get something back (hopefully) | veryniceperson
28/4/2021 08:42 | The buyback will still take shares out of circulation so it will affect the EPS calculations etc. They are 'allowed' to buyback these shares for the staff scheme. Once they have hit the max 'allowed' of 500m they will then need a board vote to implement the next stage of the buyback which could be any amount of money. I am not sure how much they will buy back this year as they have said cash flow is predicted to be negative in Q2. They are also watching their credit ratings and lenders are not keen on lending to dirty oil at the moment. A way round this might be to segregate their borrowing for green projects somehow but not sure if possible, I have not heard of mention anywhere. | planit2
28/4/2021 08:27 | Many months ago I posted on barcs What are they going to do with the old batteries from cars Will they end up in mass graves | portside1
28/4/2021 08:26 | Yes hydrogen is a winner ,It's the future have done a lot of research | portside1
28/4/2021 08:20 | when the Hydrogen hype has died down, these fuel cell companies will be no more than just manufacturing businesses in that cut throat world of competition, there will be no money in it as prices get drove down..... the smart movers will be the suppliers of hydrogen like BP. WJ. | w1ndjammer
28/4/2021 08:18 | So the buy back is only to be used to cover the staff share ops So it will have no impact on shares but means no dilution | portside1
28/4/2021 08:08 | You can put 20% of hydrogen in to gas and it cuts the co2 | portside1
28/4/2021 07:50 | should BUY Fuel Cell Energy(FCEL) & NIKOLA Corp (NKLA) | deanroberthunt
28/4/2021 07:32 | needs to invest heavily in Hydrogen Fuel / Cells....and Quantum Computing / AI :) | deanroberthunt
27/4/2021 21:26 | Just thinking . If Citibank's target price is 300 then not too far to go now lol | meb123
27/4/2021 21:16 | I must say Marktime, that I found this to be a very encouraging set of results, and I am now even more confident of the medium to long term future of the company (and its share price). Yes, I am disappointed with the share price performance today, but think this has to be put in context of a flat or falling market generally, and also against fairly low volumes. On a rising tide, all ships in the harbour will float a bit higher, but I think this one will float higher and faster than most others. I still think fair value of circa 350p still high likely at some point 2021. Best wishes NSB. | north sea boy
27/4/2021 20:56 | And BP can buy more shares LOL I am not sure how long we have to wait before the next phase of buybacks (after the 500m for share schemes). If Q2 is cash flow negative, perhaps it will be Q4 before BP start the buybacks in earnest. | planit2
27/4/2021 20:41 | Just reading , millar the anti Brexit fighter fund manager as called for the regulator to be sacked from th3 fca I have said what she as said for years ,And she is for once correct the corruption at the fca is truly amazing they would not answer my questions and said end you will not get a answer , so do not bother to e mail us we are not interested , and it was all fact , and now others are say what I asked of their corruption | portside1
27/4/2021 20:29 | Interesting set of results. Attached is an easier to read version... Stand outs for me is the split by segment and gas being lumped in with low carbon energy lots of split detail eg capex but the profit is not... I remember that we are told that a return of circa 10% on low carbon energy is the target when acquiring businesses... would be nice to see more detail if the segment is on track for a targeted contribution. Noted in the above page 19 is based on brent @ $50... it is currently $66.5... Messr Looney today was saying OPEC was keeping it in the $60 - $70 range so we are quids in there... Overall happy with Qtr 1.. Reckon the share price will be over £3 tomorrow and perhaps mid year reflect the value of the business. See GS has reiterated £4.70... if only they were close to being right... time will tell. | gwatson56
27/4/2021 20:12 | Oh what a surprise the share price is down I hope this gets sold off then I can invest more at a good entry point..... | plastow
27/4/2021 18:40 | Bp will bounce back up from here is my view | portside1
27/4/2021 18:40 | Phil one thing is fact. Elec cars are doing more damage to the Environment than petrol cars But it's being kept out of the news And the likes of green peace and the global warming orgs Will not say a word ,If global warming is fact and what these orgs say why do they not act Stop all motor sports Stop all sports under lights Stop all international sports because of the millions who travel Ever year to watch them .The simple reason is they do not really care it's just a well paid job why do these orgs NEVER mention the biggest treat to the planet POPULATION The reason is simple they are to scared to say women must be Made to only have one child and stop all benefits after one child They will stay silent and mute | portside1
27/4/2021 18:13 | But now mms have sold their holdings to funds and clients We should start to move up if they have for filled their orders | portside1
27/4/2021 18:12 | "Hitting its net debt target a year earlier is a good start and this is allowing the company to resume share buybacks in the second quarter. However, the outlook on cash is less positive for the second quarter and longer term it feels like something has got to give if BP is truly to complete its ambitious transformation into a zero-carbon business," said AJ Bell's Russ Mould. "Investors may question whether BP is putting off difficult questions now rather than facing them full on and truly 'transforming while performing' as the company would have it," Mould added. 27/4/2021 18:12 | The U.K. is unregulated it is only their to protect the big investors and funds The fca is full of employees who make millions by noting inside info | portside1
27/4/2021 17:42 | Just had a e mail the mms for the last 5 weeks have been holding millions of shares for clients so we should now start to move back from tomorrow it's all rigged for funds | portside1
27/4/2021 17:32 | Just back home can not believe the manipulation But we all know their is no regulation in the U.K. even the Pra fca boe are all at it all buying under insider dealing by their families in their wives and children it all their to see | portside1 |
