======= Mathematical Equations equals = Better Investment decisions =======

The application of logic in the form of a simple mathematical equation seems like a good idea in these troubled times.

Increase in Covid-19 cases = decrease in demand for OIL

Official numbers of cases now will be 40M in 5 days time BUT cases are rising at 1M every 3 days now so by end of july 2021 without major National Lockdowns worldwide case numbers will have grown to a Ten times that number according to several computer models.

Production of OIL in the face of such increases in cases logically will have to be reduced to prevent oversupply or else OIL price falls

Demand for OIL will fall as people travel less because they are poorer and frightened of catching Covid-19 whilst traveling with lots of asymptomatic strangers and businesses go bust in increasing numbers due to debts.

So it is very simple buywell believes

OIL price will fall further in 2021 as Covid cases double and then double and then double again from where they are today

This is why the chart of BP. is the shape it is IMO

Until Covid-19 goes away it is very difficult to argue IMO a bullish case for any OIL price rise unless worldwide supply is drastically reduced by circa 50%

Can't see the USA for example agreeing to do that

lol brownbear3, yes I see confidence returning with Looney staking over £300 of his hard earned money on the future of BP this month alone. Must have a good reason to put nearly 0.002% of his annual salary at risk

The crash is amazing, I bought last week. Really can't believe that the fundamentals have change so much to justify the 60% or so lower mkt cap.

Rmc100, by asking that question you display a fundamental misunderstanding about what moves share prices. You are basically asking "anyone know what the amount of buy orders will be relative to sell orders, and the quantities involved over the next 3 years?". That is impossible to answer, nobody knows, nor can they predict collective human behaviour. The only thing you can do is look at the company's reports and assets, and ask yourself if you would buy BP for £58 billion pounds today or not. If yes, buy the shares, if no, don't. But don't try and guess what other people or computer algos will think it's worth
