31/1/2017 13:58 | Just out: "Exxon Mobil badly missed earnings forecasts as it took a $2 billion impairment charge related to dry gas operations in the U.S. Rocky Mountain region. Persistently low oil prices and weaker profit margins in Exxon's refining business also weighed on earnings for the full year. "Financial results for the year were negatively impacted by the prolonged downturn in commodity prices and the impairment charge," Exxon Mobil Chairman and CEO Darren Woods said in a statement". | alphorn | |

18/1/2017 23:59 | So negative people. I really don't see a substantial fall back, don't believe the market is "toppy" at all and can see the FTSE challenging 8,000 this year with oilers and commodities the main winners. There look like being 3 x interest rate rises by the FED this year which can only support the dollar and I do think the OPEC deal will hold. So I'm very optimistic and don't intend selling any of my BP or RDSB any time soon. | warranty |
